GT #53: Magic @ Wizards 7 PM (CSN/99.1 FM) [2/9/15]

YOUR Washington Bullets are 32-20! They finally snapped a 5 game losing skid to the Nets on Saturday night!

They remain home to face the Orlando Magic who have just fired their HC Jacque Vaughn who lasted 2.5 years on the job. The Magic have been very much up and down this season and sit at 16-37 and 7 games out of the 8th spot with under 30 games left to play. Victor Oladipo has been electric some nights and Nik Vucevic has played well rebounding and scoring but his defense at the rim is not good enough for ORL to be a great defensively.

I worry about one of these guards going off but this is a game the Wizards should win despite the close calls early in the season vs. the Magic.

that was a brutal ending to that Bulls game. There is no way they should be able to recover from that loss in that short of time. If we lose then it is by far the worse loss of the season

Otto Porter Otto be starting. That kinda decision should be Ottomatic for Randy, just bench Pierce if hes shooting us Otto the game. On the Otto hand..... nah, forget it, I Otto never second guess Otto Porter.

Looking forward to seeing Otto at the 2 again - this time against a quality defender in Ola.

Wiz should encourage Elfrid to shoot jump shots and don't let him penetrate - just play 5 feet off him and cover his passing lanes. Or is that the way to defend Wall?

Yeah, I hope Beal sits. I'd rather he play against Toronto or just sit this week and have the whole All-Star break off.

Good lord, rewatching that vine over and over and seeing so much defensive fail by Orlando. Noah set an illegal screen on Elfrid Peyton (not that he ever gets called for that), but not a single player did what they should have done. What were they playing, a zone? Who in the hell was Oladipo even guarding?

You know, it may very well be his natural position. His handles are pretty good, and he is able to guard SGs effectively. Plus, most SGs can not over power him.

I certainly hope not. He has average foot speed for a SF; he's slow for a SG. He can use his length to make up for it on defense, but his mediocre first step will limit him on offense. He's certainly better off adding those 20 lbs of muscle so that he can play SF.

OMG, Temple is starting tonight. Only Witt would start Temple over OP after we ended a 5 game losing streak and had our biggest blowout of the season. Why screw up the chemistry? Man I hate this guy and yes I will still feel like that even if we blow them out

Otto defending Oladipo is something I'm excited to see. That's the smaller, ridiculously quick and explosive two that concerns you the most about him playing that position. If he looks good then he's more versatile than we thought.
