Stevan Jovetic Has Place With City Despite UCL Snub

Stevan Jovetic was dropped from Manchester City's squad for the Champions League, but Manuel Pellegrini insists he still has a place with the club.

"I don't think that one thing is linked with the other," Pellegrini said. "It's very important for Stevan to try to play now until the end of the season, to try and play as much games as he can, try not to be injured and have a high performance every time he plays. At the end of the season we analyze, not just with Stevan, but also with the rest of the squad which will continue next year."

Jovetic has struggled to make his mark since joining City from Fiorentina in July 2013.

Jovetic is a remarkable player - On the wrong team.

Arsenal could have used his size, ball control and overall class to replace Giroud. City has Dzeko/Aguero already.

Stevan was a Mancini signing I believe. A steal - but with the current roster he's just another player, not a gem.

I would love to see Jovetic go to Dortsmund and rip it with Marco Reus.

Yeah soccer rumors tend to take quicker courses of action when rumors float though in this case... Dortmund want to cash in top dollar on a injury riddled Reus. Since the world cup he hasnt made a significant impact, his team is dead last place, and he's under contract with a hefty buy out clause.

I say they keep him. Until another young star arises they can cash in something Gotze or Lewandowski. Gundogan is good, maybe Juventus good, not BPL ready.
