Sign Jackson for 4-$40 million, sign Whiteside 4-$32 (didn't see 2nd year on salary), draft Stanley Johnson (SF) & Delon Wright (PG)... Fill in the roster with 2nd round picks & free agents... Our rotation would be as follows:
PG: Jackson (6'3") & Wright (6'6")
SG: Kobe (6'6") & Clarkson (6'5")
SF: Stanley (6'8") & Young (6'7")
PF: Randle (6'9") & Kelly (6'9")
C: Whiteside (6'11") & Davis (6'9")
We can add a couple cheap veterans... This team is young, long, athletic & would play hard EVERY night... All these moves are realistic, assuming Whiteside doesn't have a team option... We are not that far away... Lakeshow baby...

That dude has issues and quite possibly be the worst contract in the league right now. I'd take a flier on someone like Brook Lopez who's issues are purely physical but not psychological like Rose.

what you see as psychological? There's still flashes of his old self, his game is just undisciplined at moment. After 2 years full of injuries I would give the guy a brake, he still young enough to recover and become at least a respectable guard, maybe no longer elite but star power is still there and you know how mgmt. loves them some star.

that's a good problem to have....

miggs wrote:I definitely think Embiid could be had, he seems to have attitude issues and gained 30 lbs or something? I think he could be had should the 76ers end up drafting Okafor or Towns depending where they end up. Wouldn't mind a front court of Randle and Embiid but problem is obvious, is there enough room in the paint for them both? We could draft Russell and with Kobe and maybe a Tobias Harris we'd have a solid 5.

Not a good problem when you could have had D'Angelo Russell, Noel and Embiid instead. If anyone still thinks you can "draft" a franchise player, you are sorely mistaken. The guy needs to be in a situation where he can develop and you can surround him with a team that fits. Wall might be a lot more like Westbrook if his team wasn't dotted with snipers.

aaron_gray wrote:Pretty sure Embiid and Okafor are both post players. Noel's defensive prowess is real: he's currently 4th in defensive box plus minus as a rookie. The guy is a legitimate rim protector with quick hands and length that allows him to rack up steals. He'll challenge every shot you throw at him. I don't know why you're comparing him to guys like Thomas Robinson, considering they're 2 completely different types of players.
