Well I imagine any player playing out of position is naturally going to struggle to some extent.

We have to trade Isaiah, Dragis wants to play for the Suns and he is better than Thomas...he and Bledsoe, with Ennis or a veteran cheap PG, are good enough to cover that position.
We have prove that this structure is not working, McDonough have to make the adjustment.

Exactly.

Thomas is what he is - a spark plug off the bench but has weaknesses. Defense, or lack thereof. I think he stops the ball

If the Suns get rid of the Morri, Green and Thomas - I think they become a better TEAM.

Who would you play at PF if they get rid of the twins? I don't think a premier PF is available. Would you just play Plumlee or Wright there and hope for the best?

Keep in mind pace will also impact points in the paint, naturally. More possessions also means more possessions in the paint for opposing teams.

There is a reason teams are lining up to get their hands on Goran (lakers, rockets, knicks) and NOT one team even offered bledsoe a contract!!!!!!!!

There was a reason indeed. He was an RFA and Babby said in Feb we'd match any offer. Bucks thought about making an offer but I guess decided it would be a waste of time. Minny wanted a sign and trade.

They control this atocious thing that Hornacek calls an offense. It's the chuckwagon.

Lmao, Bledsoe averages the most assists on the team, is top 20 in the league in assists, and is averaging the same amount of assists so far this season with 3 PG on the roster, as Dragic averaged last season while having a chance to single handedly control the offense for 40 games. Wtf are you on about?

I hope he has the most assists on the team being a primary ball handler. Also top 20 in assists in the league of 32 teams isn't terribly impressive. For the record I like them both and don't think it would have been (or would be) wise to let either walk for nothing for a couple of million. All NBA players get overpaid. Arguing over who is better and getting paid too much isn't worth it considering the rising cap allows both contracts to likely be bargains by the 2016 season.

If we hadn't signed IT, it would be a non issue.

I always laugh when i see people call Bledsoe a "Turnover Machine". Its comical. Let me quote myself from last time i defended Bledsoes SUPER HIGH RATE OF TURNOVERS:

Kerrsed wrote:

Rather than thinking about ways to "x them out" how about not turning the ball over so much in the first place?

Your Bledsoe beef just doesnt end does it? 3 turnovers is alot? Really? Take a look at the best Starting PG's in the league! Since i doubt you would take the time to do so, i did it for you!

Wall: 3.8
Curry: 3.2
CP3: 2
Rose: 3.2
Rondo: 3.3
Lawson: 3
Rubio: 3
Westbrook: 4
Lillard: 2.8
Parker: 2.7
Lowery: 2.7

So Bledsoe is smack dab in the middle of the best PG's in the league when it comes to turnovers.

Also Bledsoe>Dragic. That is all.

I think all those guys likely handle the ball quite a bit more than Bledsoe. If you can find the stat where it talks about % of possessions that result in turnovers, and he is still in the middle of those guys, then your point would be valid.

All that being said, I think it's an issue, but at the same time Bledsoe is young and most of those guys have played FAR more than him in the league, so I expect Bledsoe to improve in this respect.

Thomas is younger and has played better than Dragic this year, not like Dragic is much better on D. Bledsoe has also been better and Dragic seemingly cant perform at SG, I would move Dragic.

You'd move Dragic for the bag of peanuts we would get back for him since he is an impending FA? The "experts" don't even think a team would trade much for assets for Love since he can opt out. Dragic would not get us much back at all in a trade right now. I say re-sign him and if we need to trade him or someone later they will have far more value if under a long term deal.

All this "poor Goran" crap gives me a headache. I guarantee that Jeff isn't telling him to go stand in the corner. Dragic gets his turns with the ball and after a few failed attempts at penetrating he goes over to the corner and stands there in hopes that everyone will forget about him. We're going to miss him when he's gone but let's face it, we miss him most nights right now as it is. All too often he looks slow, tired and disinterested out there and on those nights we look outclassed because of it. But yeah, let's just blame Eric and IT for it.

I know all of Goran's fellow countrymen are convinced it has nothing to do with the fact he's played year-around for the last few years but I have my doubts. I say trade him now so we don't lose an occasionally great player for nothing and then replace him with a usually good shooting guard. We'll be better off. but if we're not going to re-sign him, give him some time off and find a big man that can space the court and run the pick and roll/pop with him.

Let's just see how your darlings preform at the 2 guard, while the other leads one piss-poor posession after the other, and Dragic starts for another NBA team who is competent enough not to force him to play shooting guard (or small forward in some cases).

Goran's turnovers last year: 2.8 (on 5.9 assists)
Eric's this year: 3.1 (on 5.9 assists)

Anyone who watches basketball can identify that IT is one of this team's biggest issues -

* He is a ball stopper. Their is a reason why Sacramento no longer wanted him
* Can he score efficiently at times? Yes - Can Gerald Green do the same? Yes - We have too many microwaves
* Three PG lineup is horrible to watch. I absolutely hate it. Bad basketball.
* My opinion -

IT needs to go. G. Green needs to go.

* Give Archie an extended look at SG next year or find a taller SG who can play.
* Move Dragic to 6th man role
* Bledsoe needs to be 35+MPG and Primary Ball Handler all of the time

I don't feel like our best players play enough right now. Hornaceks rotations are so messed up.

I just can't believe you'd trade him for peanuts. He won't get much back in a trade. That's common sense. Also, Hornacek absolutely tells him to stand in the corner. That's what you have to do to space the floor. He says he is doing what is asked of him. I don't mind him standing in the corner because that is what you have to do for proper spacing and that's how all teams play.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind if Dragic moved to a Harden/Ginobili sixth man type of role (assuming IT is gone). I doubt he'd want that, but if you sign him that might not be bad. I think he is a fine lead guard, but if that isn't going to be the case, the 6th man role wouldn't be a bad use.

Well if Goran can't play the 2 then he needs to be traded in the next two weeks. It's really that simple. Bledsoe isn't going anywhere. And Goran is better off guarding 2s anyway; quick ones give him fits and that's not going to get better with age.

I disagree with each sentence in your post. First off, no, I wouldn't trade him for peanuts. And no, I don't think it's common sense that we won't get much back in trade. If there's a market for him, we'll get something in return. I don't think he's a star though so my idea of fair value might not agree with yours. And there is no way in the world that Jeff said, Goran stand there in the corner and don't move, don't penetrate, don't help us on offense.

There are times when he's supposed to go to the corner but that's not what he's doing and of course he's going to say that's what they want from him. Jeff has said some things too and they don't exactly back up Goran's comments. When Goran is feeling spritely he doesn't stand in the corner, so are you suggesting he's disobeying Jeff on his good nights? And the only players I've seen just standing in the corner in this league are one dimensional shooters and that's not Dragic. He's not a catch and shoot threat. He's at his best when he's penetrating and he does that best from the baseline or wing unlike Eric who seems to penetrate best from the top of the key.

Dragic would never come back as a 6th man.

I've thought we won't trade Dragic because we're trying to make the playoffs. But given that he hasn't been killing it for us lately, maybe we give it a shot. There are a lot of destinations that make sense, actually. Aspiring contenders who wouldn't be able to sign him as a free agent.

Send him and his brother to the Pacers for their pick in this upcoming draft. Their man guys are in their primes: I don't think they can wait for a draft pick to develop. The pick would have to be unprotected, with the caveat being that if it's in the top 3, they can have our pick in return.

Better than sending him to HOU, where he'll torture us for the next 5 years.

The Kings aren't performing much better this year than they did last year, so IT is hardly to blame. The role IT has now as our bench spark plug is perfect. I don't mind him there. Green can go for sure.
I feel like we need to trade Dragic for a more traditional SG. Would love to see if we can swing a deal of Dragic/picks/fillers for Gordon Hayward. Hornacek would be a perfect mentor for that kid.

OK, so I assume that when people say they'd trade Dragic, but they wouldn't trade him for peanuts, they are effectively saying they wouldn't trade him, since that is what you would get in a return. We would only get proper value (even under your standards) if he told that team he would re-sign with them prior to the trade. In that case, he would have value. Same as when Love was up for trade, and he had FAR more value than Dragic, and a year left (not two months). I can't believe people think we would fetch much for Dragic for two months of play, especially if they don't think he's that good.

Anyone who shoots above 33% from 3 pt range is a catch and shoot threat. Dragic may run around, but typically if he doesn't have the ball he is creating space by having a defender follow him around. These things both have the same impact UNLESS people are not respecting his jump shot.

What Hornacek likely tells him is that if a guy cheats off you and you don't receive a quick pass for a shot, run, because then your defender will have to chase you and can't keep cheating off you. That is why he is not ALWAYS standing in the corner. But if he is drawing a defender out there, he is getting the desired result, and it will give Bledsoe or Kieff or Len or whoever a cleaner look.

Indiana would have to send back $7-8 million in salary because they are well over the cap.

Of course I'd do Qwigglez' deal if that was even in the realm of a possibility but Utah would never give up Hayward for two months of Dragic.

Sign and trade him this summer to a team that is over the cap. Get some young prospects or picks.
