That is the best thing to do if you want good value for him. You don't need to trade him immediately either. He would have value mid season too if he is under contract.

It's not like the guy who did this suddenly had a massive decline in the space of < 12 months.

I can pull up a ton of Career high videos!

Using 1 game to justify something is as bad as those who like to use his Game against the Spurs in the playoffs to make him into some kind of worldly all-star.

I always laugh when i see people call Bledsoe a "Turnover Machine". Its comical. Let me quote myself from last time i defended Bledsoes SUPER HIGH RATE OF TURNOVERS:

Your Bledsoe beef just doesnt end does it? 3 turnovers is alot? Really? Take a look at the best Starting PG's in the league! Since i doubt you would take the time to do so, i did it for you!

Wall: 3.8
Curry: 3.2
CP3: 2
Rose: 3.2
Rondo: 3.3
Lawson: 3
Rubio: 3
Westbrook: 4
Lillard: 2.8
Parker: 2.7
Lowery: 2.7

So Bledsoe is smack dab in the middle of the best PG's in the league when it comes to turnovers.

Also Bledsoe>Dragic. That is all.

First : emphasis was on the "dumb" not on the "machine". He makes costly, unnecessary turnovers at the end of the games. Not sure if that came through from my comment.
Second: the guys you have here handle the ball much more than him. ( Therefore have more assists than Bled as well, but thats only natural).
Third: if you check the assist/turnover ratio for the pointguards this year, you'll find Bled and IT at the 42/43 places out of 51 qualified players. Bled was 46th last year and IT 37th.We are 21st in assist/games/team and 25th in A/TO ratio. Sad, pathetic, call it whatever you want. Have fun with these guys running the show next year. Would you preferr AC or DC? Oh, and if you want to go on a bit more, guess who is 5th/6th on that assist/turnover list among "shooting guards"?

THAT is all.

(also, when you compare the best game of a great all-nba season to the best game of some lame mo williams and corey brewer, lucky, once in a lifetime performance, you are not doing any favors to your arguments)

Now he is ALWAYS an SG, and he can play decently there, but he is more confortable with the ball on his hands and making plays for him or for others.
We have to trade Isaiah, Dragis wants to play for the Suns and he is better than Thomas...he and Bledsoe, with Ennis or a veteran cheap PG, are good enough to cover that position.
We have prove that this structure is not working, McDonough has to make the adjustment.

Your a 100% correct. What hornacek is doing with Goran is criminal. I would take a Goran led team(without bledsoe and IT) over a bledsoe led team anyday. You don't take the ball out of a 29 years old hands (who has played PG his entire life) and expect good results.

The Suns are currently on a pace for a record worse than last year. Ironically Goran played his best basketball when bledsoe was out.

Bledsoe and IT have combined to destroy any resemblance of a pro offense. Their street ball mentality is destroying this team. But they will continue to chuck away and the Suns will continue to get beat by bad teams. The Suns are DEAD LAST in assist per game. Fingers get pointed at your PGs, bledsoe and IT. They control this atocious thing that Hornacek calls an offense. It's the chuckwagon.

You're right about Goran playing his best ball when Bledsoe was out last season.

Here's the problem with your "Bledsoe is terrible and hurts the team" argument:

2013/2014 with Dragic AND Bledsoe: 23-11
2013/2014 with only Dragic: 20-19

We are at our best with both of them in the lineup.

That's why IT confounds me so much. He's a great player on a great contract, but something is amiss. Everyone says they hate the the "3 PG" system, but we're not even running the "2 PG" system anymore. Last year, Bledsoe and Goran took turns running the sets in that glorious 34 game stretch. Now, Goran is pretty much strictly a SG, slotted on the weak side waiting for the 3. It really doesn't make sense to me because that's a complete waste of his skillset. He's not a spot-up shooter, he's a slasher. When Horny plays the trips, Goran slides one over yet again, and now he's at SF.

Still, Thomas appears to be important to our success, given that we went 3-5 without him in the lineup in December.

So I really don't know what the heck is going on. I think we all envisioned this year as "last year's offense + Ish Smith's minutes become IT's minutes", but with Frye leaving and Bledsoe becoming the higher usage PG, we're not running last year's offense.

You want to know something crazy that doesn't make any sense? We're actually finishing a higher % of our possessions with assists this season than last season(15.8% this year, 14.8% last year). Seems impossible given all of the ISO stuff, but we're moving the ball better this year.

I'm with you on this one. Bledsoe-Dragic is fine. The biggest mistake we did was breaking that up and bringing in IT.

We shouldn't have to pick Goran or Bledsoe, they were great together.

Ive always disliked how bandwagon this board is with players but this is getting outright ridiculous. Last year it was probably 2 other people and I vehemently defending Len. Now I really have to come in here and remind you guys that goran had one of the best years in suns HISTORY last year? Dragic took a pack of NBA scrubs to within a few games of the 8th seed.........without Len. I swear some of you would turn a cheek to your own mothers teet.
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."

Yeah, I don't understand the constant arguing and trying to say one or the other of these guys suck. They are both good and they both have different strengths/weaknesses. I'm surprised about the level of focus people have on trying to prove one or the other sucks.

IT doesn't suck either. I don't really like his style of play as much, but the big problem is trying to give all three of them a lot of time, and I think most of us know who the best two players are, not necessarily in individual stats but in helping the team as a whole be cohesive and click well as a unit.

You're right, but it's not just one game. He's put together 160+ games of great play.

People pointing out Dragic or Bledsoe having lower assists numbers than they should...

Well that's because they have team mates who tend to extend plays by dribbling and going ISO.

Morris twins, Tucker are main culprits here in regards to getting passes to them then dribbling in or holdin onto the ball longer than they should. 52 games worth of evidence.

There were more than 3 people defending Len last year.

Id say 50/50 split amongst the Suns fans.

Some posters here simply take numbers and quick glances to judge players.
When every player should be judged within context to justify their performance/impact.

Your memory is faulty. Last year Goran took a group of players to a .500 record. Goran AND Eric took them to within a few games of the 8th seed. Many people said it time and again here, Frye was critical to our success last season. Frye is gone and so is Goran the almost superstar. It's one thing to let Frye go, let's face it he's a specialist not a star - but it's a real problem to not replace him with another stretch forward that complements Goran's game. Not providing Dragic the space he needs to excel along with his decision to once again play year around is the problem. Not Eric, not IT, not Jeff.

LOL, You do realize that Mo Williams was an all-star right? I could post his career high game from that ALL-STAR SEASON if it makes you feel better. I mean, if Gorans once in a lifetime performance of 44 points is ok to post, and Mo WIlliams 55 points isnt due to the fact that it wasnt during a "great all-nba season" as you so pointed out, how about i post one of his? Well, i cant post his 44 point game against the Suns that season because it isnt on Youtube, but i can post his 43 point game against the Kings that came just 2 weeks after.

Yup, that was during his "All-Star" season. Both of them were. Along with 4 other 30+ point games. Lame Mo Williams.

Everyone calls us a 3 PG team yet none of them are true PG's. I don't think you need one to win a title anyway. Who was the last team that had a natural "pass first" PG to win a championship?

It's eerily quiet from the Suns FO...

I'll be ecstatic if they make a move that frees up minutes for Goodwin, Warren and Ennis. Not to mention Bogdanovic next season... That's all I want.

Dragic is a good player but he will make a decision based on what is best for him.

Phoenix Suns franchise > Players...always.

Bledsoe's strengths are common traits for championship PGs.i

Defends well, rebounds for his position, can score in traffic. Draws fouls a lot.

Pretty sure we can bank on Gerald moving on, so that's 20+ minutes a night for Goodwin right there, assuming he beats out Bullock for the backup 2 spot.

What happens if McD brings back Gerald? We all talk like he's going to move on but what happens if he signs back with us? He seems to like it here and we've revitalized his career. I could even see him taking a pay cut to stay.

Return to Phoenix Suns
