Re: Trade Targets
Rubio isn't the perfect point guard for this team, because that guy was Nash and he doesn't exist anymore. But Rubio would be the next best thing.

Re: Trade Targets
I honestly really haven't seen Rubio play much so this is an honest question. Hasn't he been viewed in the past to be an advanced stat disaster? I really feel like I've read something in the past trashing him in regards to advanced stats.

The opposite, actually. Box score fans have hated him, basketball dorks love him.

Re: Trade Targets
I have no interest in overpaid, overrated, injury prone players in general. so me not wanting ricky Rubio isn't personal.

Re: Trade Targets
I've given up on a deal after last night. The chemistry is too good. I can't see the team making any move unless they can dump Ersan's salary to free up money for this summer.
And even then they might not do a deal like that since they'll need Ersan for a playoff push.

This line of thinking only makes sense for a contender. There is no way we are beating Chicago, Atlanta, Cleavland, or Washington in a playoff series. To refrain from making a trade that helps us long term, because we want to keep this roster in tact for a playoff appearance is Kohl-sian.

Yup. The warm and fuzzies we are all feeling from a potential 45+ win team is clouding our judgement.
Nothing has changed in my mind. This is still a 2nd round ceiling team (if we get the right playoff matchup). I personally can only see us beating TOR of all the teams above us).
We will definitely not be in the lottery so the best thing a team with the eye on the future can do is get the most for your expiring assets or veterans that other teams may covet.
The biggest issue for the Bucks is the PR. Any trade that Joe Public perceives as a salary dump or non-win now move will sink the Bucks goodwill with the casual fan base.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Re: Trade Targets
Teams that know their place in the league and are smart would look at Jared Dudley and Brandon Knight and cash out. Like, right now.

I just don't think the value in our players is there. Maybe Ersan has a good playoff series and we can dump him over the summer but with our PGs atm I don't see it. We aren't getting anything for Knight with Reggie Jackson available for cheaper. We could probably get a 2nd for Duds but he's giving away beer and cheese to fans and will opt out this summer.

Re: Trade Targets
Rubio would be the perfect PG for this team, I think a distributor like that is the type of guy we want with Giannis and Jabari. Knight is talented enough to play off the ball, if he committed to playing the 2 and didn't pound the ball with his head down he could be our 2 going forward but I don't know if he'd ever accept that role.
FREE GIANNIS

Rubio's health is the only risk at this point. He would be absolutely a blast to watch on this team

I think Rubio would work well on this team. Bad part is he's not worth near max money and he's injury prone.

Re: Trade Targets
With the emergence of Giannis (and Middleton), the Bucks should trade Knight. Knight was good before since they needed a guy to get shots up, but not any longer.
With the Playoff run, I think it makes sense to keep Dudley & Bayless, but dump Ersan and Knight for future assets.

Re: Trade Targets
I think a ball pounding distributor who can't shoot like Rubio is about the worst fit next to Giannis imaginable.
Giannis at his peak is going to be a point who needs the ball in his hands to create for himself and others. Rubio is completely useless off the ball.
I don't think trading Ersan is any sort of death blow, especially if we are getting anything other than a pick back for him.

totally disagree. we stand a good chance of beating them. this team has a MUCH greater chance of advancing than the ftd team had.... even advancing PAST the 2nd round.

I think we could win a series against chicago, washington, or toronto, especially if it was a home series. I don't think we'd be the favorites to win it, but it's possible. Lebron is another story.

Re: Trade Targets
I hope we get the Bulls. I want Giannis to get tested.
He will learn so much about what he needs to do to take the next step in a 6-7 game match up against a defensive coach pulling out all the stops to take his game away from him.

none of those teams scare me. none of them. elite defense and hot shooting we can beat anybody. plus this team doesn't get blown out.
since the dallas/okc back to back loss that took us to 11-12 weve gone 18-11. in that time we haven't lost by more than 8 pts and we have an overall win diff of like +5. this team we have now with middleton back.... Dudley playing well.... depth maybe finally getting healthy as giannis breaks out into being a legit star is a 50+ win team. we are going to be entering the playoffs as one of the top 2-3 teams in the east this year. I don't care where we start we can win not just the first series we can win the 2nd. im not going to want to face LeBron just because of bullsht that goes on with the refs.... but not any of these teams scare me beyond that
this team is capable of big things. they are capable THIS year. they've made me believe with what they are accomplishing.
