I think we have a decent chance of making noise in the playoffs, we won't be a pushover that's for sure. A team like Atlanta does not want to meet us in the playoffs imo, I actually think we match up better with them than we do Cleveland or Chicago. It's not totally out of the question the Bucks could challenge for the division either, we're what? 3 or 4 games back? If we can get on a roll it's possible.

This. Until Rubio learns how to shoot, he needs the ball in his hands to have any sort of effectiveness. Off-ball, he is a complete disaster on offense. That contract too......bleh.

I think we should trade for Lawson & Hickson right now with Knight, Sova, and a 1st rd pick going out. I think if we can get a true PG, we could possibly catch the Bulls.

Hickson is basically an athletic Gooden. No thanks on Knight/1st for Lawson. Not the type of move we should be making this year.

I think people are getting a little drunk off of beating up on mediocre/bad teams. Not saying we can't be competitive but I don't think we're winning a playoff series.

We did beat Portland and Toronto recently. And we were a couple made 3s away from coming back to beat Houston in Houston. :dontknow:

Weirdly enough with how versatile our guys are position wise and how deep we are, a 7 game series probably gives us more ability to make adjustments than most teams. We really need a rebounder who can play C though, without that we'll get abused on the boards.

I dunno, I just think this team with how it can play defense and the potential mismatches we could present would be able to pose a real challenge to teams like Atlanta/Toronto/Chicago given their lack of that one dynamic player that can take over. Not having Jabari, Marshall, and Sanders hurts but I'm still holding out hope that Larry can get his **** together by playoff time and Larry even playing 15-20 minutes a game of solid interior defense would be a big boost. To me there just doesn't feel like there is some buzzsaw team like Miami was these last few years, the gap is much smaller and the top teams are more predicated with quality defense and teamwork than ubertalent and I think we might be able to compete there.

Playoffs are all halfcourt with very little transition. I think Knight becomes a TO machine and Giannis will get hacked every time he touches the ball. Maybe we win a game or two by hitting a bunch of 3s but unless Giannis puts the team on his back we aren't winning a series.

I wouldn't 'turn him down', but I wouldn't pay anywhere near what the Wolves would ask for him either. I'll buy he's a better shooter when he actually starts shooting better. His entire value is as a ball pounder. His game is creating for teammates off his dribble. If he's moving the ball around in a ball movement system like our current offense, every second he doesn't have the ball is a second his guy can sag off him and clog up the lane / passing lanes for the other guys / double someone else since he's no threat to shoot.

He's been remaking his shot for 4 years now, at this point I need to see results to buy it.

I think both Giannis and Parker will end up being better players than Rubio, and I'd rather build around them than trade for a guy who in his current form needs to be surrounded with spot up shooters and have exclusive control of the ball to initiate the offense to be effective.

I don't think Rubio is a bad player I just think he's a bad fit for us.
