The thing is Ross has sucked for 3 years now....Has he shown that much progress since his first month of his rookie season?

That's like saying don't trade Joey Graham after 3 or 4 years of sucking while his trade value is rock bottom
you keep on waiting and before you know it these guys are out of the league.

It's like Colangelo waiting on Bargnani for 7 years...

The high point was after the 51 point game.

As much as we rag on Ross, he will still hold decent value in today's NBA. SGs are in short supply, someone will give up decent assets to take a flyer on Ross.

Posted this in the PG thread, but I think he would be better utilized in a different system that catered to his strengths. Our offense, like it or not, is predicated on isolation and pick-n-roll play. Though he has shown flashes in those areas, that isn't his game.

Ross isn't going no where. Everything I've heard from people in organization have said they believe in him. Ross is dealing with some "extreme personal problems". He also has hit shooting slump. Expect to see him extended for very reasonable deal.

Casey isn't the best cultivator of young players, thus isn't the coach for Ross that's all it is. His coaching style is suited for the more experienced players. Give him to a more seasoned, opened minded coach and see what happens!

I agree, I can't see Masai making any moves to bolster our playoff efforts but I don't know if that's a good move. Just because we're currently sitting in 2nd place in the East with a very solid record doesn't mean any player who is under-performing on the roster should be 'safe' or 'immune' from a trade. Masai should consider any offers for Ross.

You have to cut your losses at some point and the Raptors franchise has always held on to their players far too long before realizing they'll never reach full potential. Ross unfortunately is never going to miraculously break out here, time to move on.

Problem with Ross is his mentality. Guy needs better focus and resiliency. With his shot + athletic ability he can easily make at least $5M for next 8 years. Nothing wrong with being role player.

Ship has passed on him being focal component of a team. Offensively he needs to consistently make open spot up shoots regardless if he is 10 or 30min or taking 2 shots vs 15. To do this he needs to prepared and focused every game.

Don't get me started on his D this year. No NBA guard should be beat off the dribble at the 3point line by a 39 year old Andre Miller.

People acting like he's just a no skill player who everyone was high on last year for no reason are being really dishonest. He was great last year. Great 3 point shooting, probably our best man-to-man defender, and provided a ton of energy on both ends.

This year he's been completely terrible and seems like he doesn't even want to play basketball. But stop acting like he wasn't good last year and didn't give fans a reason to think he'd be a legitimate guard in the league for years to come.

Ross has been a huge disappointment this season. It's odd to see a player regress at age 24, but he's managed it. I still think he's having significant issues off the court that are impacting his performance. I wouldn't trade him just yet; it would be selling uber low. You may as well wait a bit and see if regain his focus.

Nah I'm just a Raptor fan who doesn't throw 3rd year players with limited minutes under the bus. The sins are on you guys for betraying real talent.
