Maybe you can play him next to Len, but spacing would suffer more than it already has. Also, he's a black hole, and he kills ball movement(which we already have trouble with).

Simply as a trade chip, Kanter is worth more than IT, so you can upgrade that way and then see what you can flip Kanter for later, but I don't think he makes us better as a team.

One more thing...I don't like the fact that he's 22 and already demanding a trade. Dude seems to think he's better than he is. Not sure he's the most workable personality, and the Jazz fans at SLC Dunk seem to agree: http://www.slcdunk.com/the-downbeat/201 ... nbeat-1548

But we could sign the defensive king Amare, to save the day.

If we trade for Kanter, we might as well stamp "MEDIOCRE 7-8th SEED" on our foreheads for the next 5 years.

Dude is not athletic, not a good defender, not a high IQ player, not a rim protector, not a good shooter. He's 7 feet tall and 260 lbs, that's about it. We'd be getting torched (even more) on the pick and roll game.

Alex Len is in every possible aspect of the game better than Kanter.

Man some of these trades ideas suck balls. I can understand Kanter wanting a trade. Dude is on a bad team, and will probably be stuck behind Gobert for as long as he is there.

HOU gets: Dragic/Dragic/Green/Plumlee
PHX gets: Ariza/Jones/Capella/NOP 1st

Bledsoe/Thomas/Ennis
Tucker/Bullock/Goodwin
Ariza/Morris/Warren
Jones/Morris
Len/Wright/Capella

This also creates an open spot if we want to take on Amare after his buyout.

Ariza is pretty much Tucker, but with better offense and even better defense. Ariza is also a great passer as well and understand ball rotation and posses great court vision for a SF. Jones is coming back from injury, but when he comes back at full health, his defense on this team would help out a ton. Capella is still really raw (Just like most rookie C's), but i know he was one of the few players we brought in for a 2nd workout and word was that McD really liked him. We also get the lotto pick 1st that we have been rumored to be looking for in any Dragic trade. We also shave about $2M this season with this trade.

If Amare gets bought out, we have the room (and now a bit more capspace due to the trade) to take him on to play minutes at C as well as PF until Len & Jones has fully recovered.

We also help balance our roster out a bit more (What Babby was talking about on the radio yesterday), as we would be essentially turning 3 guards into a SF (Ariza), a PF (Jones), a C (Capella).

Thoughts?

Dragic is by far the best player in the deal and we don't need more picks, I think we say no to this trade.

Dragic is a half season rental.

Didn't realize Kanter was a FA so soon.

In that case, no thanks, unless you can work a 3 team deal with IT to Utah, Kanter to ____, and ____'s stuff to us.

Would you guys be down with something like:
Hill + Ed Davis + Sacre for Dragic + filler

Cue laughter.

BTW - you wouldn't make that deal, either. You can just sign him as a FA without putting your pick in danger.

Re: "how come McD is such an idiot that he only just now realized that 3 PGs isn't a good way to build the roster"

I think it's much, much more likely that he was aware of that the whole time, but he saw a chance to nab IT on an amazing deal to add another tradeable asset to our coffers. We're in Morey pre-Harden mode...asset collection first, second and third, worry about the roster fit when you finally trade for the big fish.

It's strange, but the three point lineups hold their own when they are in. Often, when they are all on the floor, they aren't so much in hero ball mode. Honestly, I would have made Goran the lead ball handler, and run IT and Bledsoe off the ball. Our main problem is we just don't have guys crashing the boards. It seems fairly simple if our bigs would just follow a guard to the basket, they could easily grab four to five more boards a game, and possibly give themselves eight to ten more points as well.

F*ck! Green could easily do this. He has the speed, the length, and athleticism. Our guys need to come out at full speed all game, that way we could use more of our bench, with fresh speed.

Man, I really hope Houston is not one of our trade partners. They don't have anyone that'll make our team better.

That's exactly what happened.

Idk why everyone says IT has such an amazing deal. Do you see anyone offering Aaron Brooks $7m/yr? He's basically the same player as Isaiah, except he's taller and a little less determined. He even averaged 20 and 5 one season just like IT. Hell, he even did it on a playoff team. Isaiah's value is so low that even his own team refused to negotiate with him, and started guys like Greivis Vasquez in front of him. If Isaiah had any value, he'd be gone by now and we would not hear of any Dragic trade rumors. I think McD signed IT because he didn't think Bledsoe was coming back, if he was it would be on the QO, and he stupidly thought he could start IT and Goran together in the future.

We'd still have Black and Kelly (who both start now) and Boozer off the bench and whatever else crap filler you give us. I could even see Byron playing wes johnson as stretch4 a la the Martix. But yes the point is to continue to tank HARD and get Dragic's bird rights.

But GK will make this Sac team really competitive.
Cousins will be ok with it.

LAL has nothing we want for Dragic.

Return to Phoenix Suns
