I think it's much, much more likely that he was aware of that the whole time, but he saw a chance to nab IT on an amazing deal to add another tradeable asset to our coffers. We're in Morey pre-Harden mode...asset collection first, second and third, worry about the roster fit when you finally trade for the big fish.

Idk why everyone says IT has such an amazing deal. Do you see anyone offering Aaron Brooks $7m/yr? He's basically the same player as Isaiah, except he's taller and a little less determined. He even averaged 20 and 5 one season just like IT. Hell, he even did it on a playoff team. Isaiah's value is so low that even his own team refused to negotiate with him, and started guys like Greivis Vasquez in front of him. If Isaiah had any value, he'd be gone by now and we would not hear of any Dragic trade rumors. I think McD signed IT because he didn't think Bledsoe was coming back, if he was it would be on the QO, and he stupidly thought he could start IT and Goran together in the future.

Bro I've been wondering this same thing.

IT better bring in some AMAZING value considering how "great" a trade asset he apparently is.

Aaron Brooks hasn't averaged 20/5 since 2009/10 season. :noway: Man, some of you guys purposely use bad examples to justify your poorly conceived ideas. :banghead: But I'm sure one of our bad posters will high five you.

Agree with this 100%. I have no idea why everything thinks the Suns should keep him because his contract is good. How is it good? He is signed for four years for 28 million dollars. Averages out to 7 million a year. That is a lot of money for a bench player. You know who has been on a great contract? Gerald Green. Think about what he did last year and he only made 3.5 million dollars. He completely outplayed his contract.

And perfect example of comparing Thomas to Aaron Brooks. In fact, Brooks actually shoots better than Thomas. Brooks shoots 45% fg and 44% 3pt. Thomas shoots 43% fg and 39% 3pt. Brooks lit Thomas up when the Bulls played the Suns. That is the problem with Thomas. That is the problem with any player that is that small. No matter what they do on offense, it is cancelled out by their sheer inability to play defense because players can just shoot over them.

I would have rather kept Ish Smith than sign Thomas. Smith was a pure point guard, super fast, and a great passer. He was so fun to watch, unlike Thomas. And he was signed for basically nothing. Should have held onto him.

Dont forget we were also in the middle of a battle with Bledsoe and needed insurance in case he bolted

The two things I would ask for, they would never give up. I would ask them to remove the protection on the pick owed to the Suns and/or Julius Randle. I do not think they would do either. Unless they want Dragic so badly that they would trade for him to get an advantage of signing him this offseason. Who knows.

Thomas can still be a smart signing, even though he might not be the best fit for us. Guys have just played lazy this season. When we play with our best efforts, we play very well. Thomas (from what I've seen) always tries very hard.

But I do love that Chicago game reference. I could score twenty points on Bledsoe if I had my bigs setting illegal screen after illegal screen.

He said he is on gag orders. So either something is brewing, or they just got tired of reading their thoughts on a public board.

Hornets fan here. Like probably 2/3 of the league and pretty much every East team that's fighting for the playoffs, was very interested to see the rumors about Dragic being available.

Would PHX have any interest in Lance + 2015 1st for Dragic?

Is that because you anticipate a better offer or just because you don't like Lance? There's a very real chance that that pick could end up a top 10 pick if our injury bug doesn't go away, and I don't anticipate that you'll want to match the huge offers Dragic will probably pick up this offseason.

You could throw in MKG and I still wouldn't take that deal if Lance is included.

Isn't that Dragic rumor coming from some random dude that tweeted it?

The Suns' FO is a bunch of idiots if they get rid of Dragic for a 1st and Thomas is somehow still on this team. Thomas for a first and expiring... that would be fine. Dragic immediately improves upon Thomas' exit from the team. Play the rest of the season out without Thomas and Dragic suddenly loves playing on the Suns again. Guaranteed.

People here hate Lance. I am still intrigued by his unique skill set, age, and defensive abilities. I would absolutely consider it.

If there ever was a player who deserved to be called "cancer", it's Lance Stephenson. On top of that, he's simply a bad basketball player.

We could give the rockets plumlee as well if we trade either Dragic or IT, I know for sure Green would be involved in that trade he's gone. I like Terrance Jones since or Dmo they cant keep both especially with a need for a pg... and even how much plumlee can suck at time hes better than any back up center they have. And the Rockets wouldn't complain if we offered IT instead of Goran... IT is locked up longer but both Dragic and IT could really get Harden a pg who can fill it up but most importantly, run the offense when needed, and space the floor for him, if IT is a liability on defense they got beverly for that. So I assume either Dragic or Thomas will be traded along with guys who don't make sense for our team anymore like Green, and Plumlee.

I would def be interested in Terrance Jones, Dmo, Corey Brewer, or a first round pick all these players add front court depth and trading away one of the pgs either Dragic/IT, Gerald Green, miles plumlee etc. Trading away one of our pgs and Green would open up space for Goodwin, and Warren and adding a Terrance Jones or Dmo would be nice for our front court depth and also maybe getting Brewer thrown in for contract reasons, I want to see this team when there balanced with a good amount of efficient backcourt and front court players not having a log jam at the guard position, and also not having to run multiple pgs on the floor with Keef and Marcus liability at times rebounding, and there liability on defense. I couldn't imagine just getting the Rockets 1st round pick and giving away Dragic, I know its his contract year and he can opt out..... But Houston must be tempted to give in like the Mavs with Rondo.

I think because Lance Stephenson is either a love or hate player... And a lot of Suns fans hate him.

He seems to be a bad seed behind the locker room, I'm not too sure but he gives that impression anyways.

Biyombo and your pick would be a good start :)

I think we move Thomas, and then yes, we will try and keep Goran for his going market value. With the cap assuming to go up greatly over the next few years, giving him Bledsoe type money shouldn't be too hard. Our owner is the one that wanted Goran back, so I don't think it will be an issue for him.

I'm not sure what rumors are out there, but I haven't heard from our inside sources that he is available.

I don't see any team giving up a potential lotto pick and a difference maker for a short term rental. I saw Lance as still having some potential and worse case being a $9M expiring next season.

Understand the concern about him, but we aren't giving our pick and any member of our core in a deal like this.

Honestly I'd be shocked if Cho would even include the first, was more curious if that would even get it done from your perspective.
