Man between Lin and Dragic I'm getting a whole lot of deja vu with the Rockets and Morey.

It's a 2-3 month rental for a first round pick, it might actually be selling high depending on the range of the pick.

Sure, but you don't want to see your best player leave for what will not be a high 1st rounder.

Miami would be the team that needs him most although due to the pick owed to Philly from the Lebron trade all those years ago I believe they can't trade a pick until 2017 which could be as late as 2019 depending on when Philly gets it. That is probably too far off of a return for Phoenix. Houston using the pick they got for Asik makes the most sense.

Charlotte should take the gamble, they are historically mediocre at best when it comes to drafting anyways.

Utah needs to get on this. Probably throw in Trey Burke.

They will be a much improve team in the West and can possibly compete for a playoff spot next season, if the young players continue improving.

A first round pick for a guy who can walk in 5 months. Better be heavily protected.

Hopefully this is just speculation. Please trade Thomas instead.

This is a very good opportunity, but only for a playoff-level team:

1. A later first round pick is not a big deal.
2. Worst case scenario, he adds a significant boost for this year's playoff run.
3. You have Bird rights which means you can offer fair market price to him to keep him.

Without Bird rights, many better teams aren't in the position of making a credible FA offer in the offseason. But if you do use those Bird rights and re-siign him and go over your cap, in a couple of years you will get relief from the increased cap.

If you're a bad team and want him, you probably just wait until the offseason and make him an offer. Besides, you don't want him messing up your tank anyway.

If so, maybe one of the possible teams that'd be interested in him come the off season, can beat the competition and acquire him now.

Celtics might get in on this

Nah, Dragic is 29 and probably won't resign in Boston unless Ainge is willing to overpay. No point in giving a first rounder for a rental who will take minutes away from Marcus Smart and James Young.

Can anyone (especially MIL fans) provide any background on Gery? It seems at this point this is pure speculation from some random reporter with nothing to back it up. McD did talk about balancing the roster but never mentioned Dragic and in fact has said the team plans to do whatever it takes to keep him. Unless Goran has told them quietly that he isn't returning, this is probably just click bait. If he has said something like that, I'll take that NOP pick and not look back for a second.

Lance and an unprotected CHA 1st is intriguing as well but I doubt other Suns fans will feel the same way.

CELTICS! Do iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit Danny! Hell maybe Phoenix could use ET for something. Can play 1-3 and has been pretty clutch for us.

Yeah I agree Utah would be a perfect fit next to Favors and those boys. They also have pieces such as Kanter to entice the Suns. Burke is not starter material and Exum is a few years away. Unfortunately as a lotto team I doubt the Jazz would give up a big asset to obtain Dragic considering his soon to be FA status. OTOH compared to other lotto teams, the Jazz seem like they are the least interested in tanking and actually are trying to develop the young players already on their roster. If I were them I might take a chance and try to convince him to stay. Dragic to Utah with their young core could be another situation similar to when Steve Nash went to Phoenix in the prime of his career.

The Rockets can dangle that Pels 1st round pick plus other assets to make a deal work. They also need another playmaker in addition to Harden. This is the type of opportunity Morey likes to take a chance on.
