ATL: The NFL Offseason - Proposed Rules Changes Pg 17
Suh apparently wants to sign with the Seahawks.

I actually wouldn't mind them making a large investment in a guy like Suh, especially if it causes them to lose other key pieces from their team. I think Suh is a very good DL but that's a position of depth for Seattle already.

Re: ATL: The NFL Offseason
I can't see Seattle wanting Suh from a salary standpoint. I can see it from an attitude and ability standpoint but that would kill their cap more than it is already going to be killed.

Re: ATL: The NFL Offseason
Signing Suh might take a season or two off Seattle's overall window but what was left of their window would be a really big window.
Seattle going into the 2015 season is IMO in a similar spot as the Packers,I could see the SB loss having a black cloud or hangover effect on them or I could see them using it as motivation and be even better in 2015.
There might be more potential for the Seahawks to have the hangover effect just because with them it was one play and it was on the coaching staff, the players might lose some trust there and that could be toxic. At least the Packers choked as a team so no one can really point the finger at anyone.
I don't think Seattle has a hangover effect if I had to bet on it though, they're a very mentally tough team and I'm sure they'll bounce back strong. The big thing for them is Beast Mode obviously, lose him and you're probably a wild card team that has to travel in the playoffs.Re-sign him and I think Seattle is still the favorite to come out of the NFC in the 2015.

Flawed logic there. Our cap situations are not the same. Just because Baltimore is thinking about cutting Ngata doesn't mean the Packers have to do the same with Pep.
That being said, I do think it would help if Pep renegotiated.
And I'd love us to get Ngata, but I imagine everyone would love to have him. 31 isn't unconscionably old for a DL.

Re: ATL: The NFL Offseason
The base salaries don't tell the entire picture too, the Ravens would save 8.5 million by cutting Ngata, the Packers would only save 7 million by cutting Peppers. Ngata has the highest cap number on their entire roster next year, even above Flacco by a couple of million.

Re: ATL: The NFL Offseason
Assuming New England gets the Thursday night opener at home, their home opponents are:
Jaguars
Titans
Eagles
Redskins
Bills
Dolphins
Jets
Steelers
Yuck. I would guess it will be the Steelers.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

What a terrible list. Looks like they will be 8-0 at home next year.

Re: ATL: The NFL Offseason
I wonder if Seattle at Green Bay could be the Sunday night opener. Our other marquee matchups (non division) would be Dallas at GB, GB at Denver. Perhaps GB at SF. GB at Arizona could be interesting. So could SD at GB.

****, that's a brutal slate of games there.
But any of those games would be better than NE getting that opener. Their slate of games just looks atrocious.

Re: ATL: The NFL Offseason
That New England schedule is ridiculous. This is why I can't buy into the Patriots hype. Their division is brutal and their schedule is soft. I know, you play who you play. That is just ridiculous.
Obviously the home opener will be either Steelers or Eagles.

Re: ATL: The NFL Offseason
My question is IF Cobb wants something like 11-13 mil per year, would you guys rather have Percy Harvin at half that price?
How about Brandon Marshall?
How about Brandon Marshall?

If Marshall was younger/not recently very injured - yes (no now).
Harvin - No.

I doubt Cobb's market is going to be that high.
Victor Cruz's deal is the ceiling.

If Ngata gets cut for making 8.5M, I would bring that guy in for a conversation with Ted instantly when free agency opens.

Paying their elite QB continues to do wonders for the outlook of that franchise.

If this Dez Bryant thing is true (apparently beat his pregnant girlfriend in Wal-Mart), then what a clown. Hope his career is done.
