I think you could then flip Mo or IT to a team that needs a pg, say Miami? Get McRob back or else flip either of them for a pick.

Neither can be retraded for 60 days, so we couldn't flip them.

What? Not even single player swaps?

Phi out: AK47

Lance would be good in a run and gun offense. He attacks the glass and can grab it and go. We take a risk chemistry wise but that's what the 1st is for. Charlotte gets a few more pieces to help push for the playoffs. Plus they rid themselves of Lance and Marvin. Phi absorbs a contract but get 2 2nd round picks for doing so.

Not a terrible deal. I imagine you have Philly involved to make salaries work? Kirilenko won't play a game for Charlotte as he's not for Philly.
Getting Stephenson would give us 2 less years than IT and more defense.
Charlotte gets a replacement defender in Tucker and a scorer in Thomas.
We take the first to 'take Lance off their hands' but it's not like they are getting nothing of worth in return.

Offseason sign and trade Mo? or else just trade IT in the offseason.

Ya Philly is solely there for cap absorption.

We are over the cap so we can't flip any players.

We aren't going to finish out the season with 4 PGs on the roster. What would be the logic in making the move in the first place? Trade Lance and a 1st for the privilege of trying to find a trading partner for your bench guys?

You have so many trade pieces where if you traded for another SF it wouldnt even be the main part of the deal. Guys like Corey Brewer, Wilson Chandler, Teletovic, every1 for the most part is better than PJ!

I haven't seen Corey and Wilson guard any centers with any close as good as PJ. I wouldn't mind Corey, but he only seems to play well against us. I have no idea if he would play well for us. Is Wilson making less than PJ?

Im just saying PJ is not a starting SF and wouldnt start on most teams hes a great guy to have off the bench for energy.. But other than that I would rather have the suns hold off to trade for a Harrison Barnes or Draymond Green Warriors cant afford both in the off season.

This is like saying Tony Allen wouldn't start on most teams. There are plenty of teams PJ could start on, you just have to have the right players around him

If our guys are putting in their best efforts, we can beat any team, so yes, I think we could make the playoffs. If our guys had put in their best efforts from the start of the season, yes, I think we could easily make the playoffs.

I'm not going to debate you eye theory.

I agree that if the Suns played with their best efforts from the start of the season, they absolutely would have a great chance of making the playoffs. One game in particular I remember seeing zero effort from the team was against the Rockets in Houston when Houston was totally depleted. The Suns were sleepwalking through the entire game and made an effort to get back in the fourth quarter but it was way too late. They also threw away games early in the season at home against Sacramento, Charlotte, Orlando, Miami, Detroit, and Milwaukee. Those losses were inexcusable. They came out flat and lifeless against those teams. Those losses to me are far worse than the buzzer beating losses against the Clippers and Rockets. I think it is too late for them to make the playoffs now.

This is so much easier to respond to, thank you. I don't think we are out of the race by any means. This team can go on winning runs just like it can losing runs. Injury bug is starting to take affect for many teams around us, and hopefully many of the teams that get nods from the refs, won't going down the stretch.

I don't know why our team waits until the last minute to try and win games, but it is fixable, and with the current roster. If we can have two guys from each squad crashing the boards at all times, we could easily out run teams, and play the way our team should. A stretch big would also help, so we can run a good pick and roll, or pop. Again, many fixable things, that maybe can be addressed once we know who is on the roster. So maybe trade dead line is when we will see.

You are just more optimistic about this team than I am. I do not see any way the Suns are going to beat out the Thunder for the playoffs or any of the teams other ahead of them like the Spurs, Clippers, or Mavericks. All of those teams are better than the Suns. It would take a blockbuster trade of like the Morris brothers and Isaiah Thomas for Chris Bosh, plus signing Amare to back up Bosh to give the Suns a chance to make the playoffs. Bosh is the closest thing to a superstar I could see the Suns getting and you need a superstar to win in this league. I still do not even know if swapping the Morris brothers and Thomas for Bosh would make the Suns all that much better anyway. Especially doing it in the middle of a season when it is hard to make a huge adjustment to the team like that. It is really just a random trade idea that I just made up. Bottom line, the Thunder are better than the Suns. The best team usually wins. Unless Tim Donaughy is reffing the game.

I need to see the ruling on this. I've never heard that a team can't make single player trades for guys they just got. I only heard of multiple player swaps with newly acquired players. And I've never heard of cap issue regarding single player swaps, other than salaries not matching. :o

Well ideally you would keep 3 in the rotation and Roberts wouldn't see the floor. Mo and IT would split time until Kemba came back. I think you could see 2 of the PG's on the floor at times as well. Its becoming more and more popular. Lance hasn't been able to fit in and Marvin holds very little value, and you replace them with a good scoring guard and a great backup SF, one who plays above average D and rebounds the ball well. Plus PJ hits the corner 3 at a very consistent rate.

If anybody wants to know how the Suns feel about the trade deadline, you should listen to Lon Babby's comments. http://arizonasports.com/41/1807242/ACTIVE I think there is a great chance the Suns make a big trade.

Just my interpretation of Babby's response. Two days ago he said it would be execution, so, take it fwiw. Listen for yourself.

Babby said the Suns tried to make a deal for Harden before he landed with the Rockets in 2012, but Phoenix lacked the trade assets at the time.

That doesn't mean that the front office has given up hope of acquiring a big-name player down the road.

"Going through that experience led me to believe that we need to do exactly what we're doing now -- which is to garner the assets, garner the players that would be attractive to others, so when that next opportunity like that comes along we could make a compelling case and a compelling package," the Suns president said. "And that's kind of where we're headed. I think we're at the point now where we've got tremendous talent from 1-15 on our team, and we've got a lot of assets; we still have the (Los Angeles) Lakers' (future first-round draft) pick and our own picks, and sooner or later, we're going to be able to consolidate some of that and get a high-level player.

Not shocking he has mentally clocked out on the team.
Get value while you can.

Well at least babbys comment should put to bed the silly amare stuff. As I said before I think this regime is ready to punt on this season and I would guess a handful of suns are very available.
