I doubt Bulls would be happy with that

Dragic for Gibson may be more realistic and make sense for both teams

Maybe McD isn't looking for a first for Dragic and is not looking at trading him at all. Some GM is calling around to see the trade package that other teams would give up for Dragic, which might include a first round pick. I remember a few years ago, there was a story that described teams calling other teams about STAT and then it got to the Suns. :D
I am guessing that McD is looking to move a guard, not named Dragic or Bledsoe. If they do make a trade it will probably be a 2 for 1 with sweeteners being moved.

Even if Goran agreed to re-sign with the Bulls, that would be a sh** load to give up for him. Mirotic was something like a number five pick in the draft, plus giving up another first for Dragic? That seems like a lot to me. If McD got this, he would be a master at winning trades.

Looking at Mirotic's stats, he looks like a pure stretch 4. High percentage of his shots are 3's, not many blocks or rebounds.

I personally want a more, traditional PF, but who can also make just enough 3''s to keep defenses honest.

Crazy idea but would you do rose for dragic? (phoenix would need to send out more salary to make it work). I wouldn't but it would be a bold move.

The more realistic bulls deal is for Gibson. I'm not a huge fan of that deal but does make some sense for both teams. To me if the choice is Gibson or the pels pick from Houston I take the Houston deal.

Then they compromise their championship window in the next 2-3 seasons.

Maybe the future first pick can be negotiated to be lottery protected instead.

But Mirotic for Dragic (happy to extend in Chicago) is not enough... a proven NEEDED player for them for a prospect.

I'm disruptive.

Bled was out the other night and it opened up minutes for DA KID. Why? No more 3 PG lineups!

Also, I'm not sure Dragic is the only one who goes. I could see IT, Gerald, maybe even the twins or Tucker going. Plumlee's probably gone. No idea who's coming back.

TJ got the same spot minutes he has received all season. Your logic is faulty. I don't think you're disruptive, more like childish. :(

I think all teams want a first for whoever they are putting on the trade block. I'm sure we want more.

I thought McD said he didn't want to add any more draft picks or rookies anyway. We already can't get half our guys any playing time.

I honestly don't know what teams would give up for Dragic, but they've gotta be hesitant to give up too much.

I mean people here think it would be crazy to lose him for nothing. From another team's perspective it might feel crazy to give up something valuable for him and then lose him for nothing. Now if he says he will commit to a team, that could be a different story.

But I think we probably end up holding onto him because it will be very hard to find equal value and we don't need more bodies just for the sake of bodies or late picks.
where Goran could have value is to a team like Houston or Chicago where they wouldn't have the cap space to sign him outright this summer but could resign him with bird rights after trading for him. Both those teams are also more likely to risk losing him if they feel he gives them a better shot at a chip this year. None of the non contenders will have any interest in him in a trade.

I really like Goran but wouldn't mind a trade because I think there's a good chance he leaves. Heck even if he stays I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the number it will take to keep him.. dudes gonna get paid.

I don't know that Chicago really needs him. Houston could use him even though I think Beverley is really good next to Harden and Dragic would end up a spot up shooter there too. If they gave us the Pelicans pick either a guy on a rookie deal that can be a backup big like Jones, then I wouldn't be upset with that trade.

They might do a deal like that if Dragic says he will re-sign with them, and maybe he would. Honestly, if we trade him we should trade his bro too to open up a roster spot and clear a little more cap space. I'm just not sure if salaries match and I don't know if we want a lot of long term money for filler guys either.

Nikola Mirotic was pick 23.

Dragic could solve Bull's concerns with D.Rose... and boost them significantly as a Championship contender.

A chance to be in the finals and win a ring is always better than a prospect who may/may not be a star or semi-star down the road.

I like Mirotic's potential on the Suns, because he could be Nowitski-lite, which would be a shoe-in to any modern team.

Bulls window is 2-3 seasons including this current....

No, Rose is a shell of himself, won't play if he is sore at all, and makes a boatload of money.

Wasn't Mirotic the twentieth pick? Which was our pick that we got in a trade and then we traded it away? Wasn't he the Orlando pick we traded with Goran for Brooks? How ironically stupid!

Yeah, he probably wants to move IT but will listen to Dragic offers. This team gets better just by subtraction of a guy or too (IT, Plumlee) and probably has a few more wins already and the rest of the season without them. Maybe they don't make the playoffs, but it does likely open us some playing time for younger guys if they want too.

I like Goran a lot, but he is not the missing piece for any team to win a championship.

Figured you were a native with all that flair. Brooklyn.

It was also a joke, since you called me childish. Name-calling and all. I'm having fun, and you gotta whip out the un-smiley face?

It's been a little dead in here for a while. No JDLAW insulting people. Everyone trying to trade for Greg Monroe... awful.

I get a first for Dragic is better than nothing. but, these are the names already NOT playing and this would add onemore:

Goodwin
Ennis
Warren
Zoran
Bogdanovich if he comes over
potentially the Lakers pick
Suns pick
Alex Brown

oh yes, Bullock

Suns do not need another cheerleader - they need to take like 7of these assets I have listed and trade for 2 guy

Gambo said the Suns are listening and nobody is untouchable. NOBODY! (He said it three times)

C: Noah (defensive player of the year)
PF: Gasol (top-notch offensive big man, championship experience)
SF: Jimmy Butler (21/7 top 5 defender on his position)
SG: Dragic (Scorer, versatile combo guard who can penetrate and lead transition among the best)
PG: Rose (Former MVP, who can still dominate in burst)
Sixthman PF: Gibson (Rugged aggressive defender)
Sixthman PG: Brooks (Very good scorer off the bench)
Sixthman PG/SG: Hinrich (Defensive combo guard with exceptional IQ)

Thats a pretty good boost Dragic can bring to them, especially when Rose is off his game, Dragic picks his offense up, the Bulls doesnt dip down.

It can be trade bait for future picks, draft picks are like shares.. they are very EASY to trade.

Return to Phoenix Suns
