Get on it Gek, Bourbon is the new black. Makes 40 degree weather feel like summer night.
i try. i've been out backpacking a handful of times since the start of last summer and switched over to taking whiskey during the winter trips (my last trip was 3 days, last weekend in january, i'll post pictures sometime if we're not facebook friends. camped in what was easily 2 feet of standing snow 1.5 miles into the woods and hit some trails during the days - **** frigid).
I've also taken to whiskey night caps on business trips with co-workers, but I just am not a fan of liquor straight (beer tastes great!). I tend to stick to gin because the tastes vary so much and it makes a great mixer for multiple cocktails.
for me its the opposite, i dont really care for the taste (although ive had some good ones) of beer and much prefer liquor straight or mixed drinks.
im not really sure what it feels like to drink in anything other than decent weather though, honestly i dont even know what weather is anymore since we really only have "its **** hot" and "its nice outside" weather where i live right now. although im planning on moving up to NorCal soon so that will change, hopefully.
