Ersan for Stauskas and Thompson has been on the table for awhile. And the Kings don't view Knight as an upgrade to Collison and I'd be stunned if McLemore was traded. :D

Any insight as to why the Arsen for Stauskas/Thompson trade hasn't been done yet? Is either side trying to expand on it?

If Giannis Parker is right it's because the Bucks were exploring all their options and the Kings pulled all potential deals for the time being when they hired Karl.

It had been there for the taking for awhile before Karl. Thompson's deal is less money but longer time than Ersan. That was the holdup. Could have given up a first to swap out Thompson for Williams but we predictably said no.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if that deal came back up in talks, but I would be surprised if it happened. No inside info on that though

Shabazz. Play him at the 2. Middleton becomes 6th man du juor.

Send out Henson and obryant if necessary. Would this work?

Aren't their deals the same length, through the 2016 season? And apparently Thompson's contract is only partially guaranteed for the last year, they could cut him for 2.6 or so.

Anyone want to offer a current scouting report on Thompson? I remember him being a very desirable trade target a few years ago; what happened to him that he's shopped with a new recent first round pick for Ersan?

I know this trade would never ever happen but, Middleton for Exum, do you do it?

I'd do the deal real fast. Stauskas hasn't been impressive whatsoever, so I can see why we might think we can do better/take on more contract years.

Nah. Middleton is turning into an incredible asset and he's much closer to being "there" than Exum. A move like that just screams to me we are breaking things down instead of moving forward. Locking up Middleton and letting him develop more seems like the more rational thing to do. I'm probably in the minority here but 2yrs from now if Middleton continues to get better he'll still be better than Exum. So short term and for the foreseeable future we are trading the better player for another project. We already have 2 of those and they both look like they'll end up better than Exum. It's a downgrade imo.

I would love the Stauskas + Thompson for Ersan deal. Thompson is an ok rotational big, no star or huge impact guy but would be a fine 15 mpg guy off the bench. His contract is only 1 year longer than Ersan's and it's less money each year. Could find another gear getting away from that situation in Sacramento and working with Kidd, look at Dudley from the Clippers to now.

The real piece back is Stauskas who while he has struggled so far, has a ton of talent, good size and athleticism and will likely become a very good shooter in this league. These college shooters always seem to take a little while to find their niche, but it's a very low price to take a chance on Nick and pair him with Giannis and Parker. He complements them both reasonably well and he also could improve once removed from Sacramento.

We need to target these buy low opportunities that I and many others scream about every year before they blow up. Similar to McLemore last season when his value was seemingly low and rumours of him being available, but now looks to have found a nice rhythm so far this season.

Yes, then I throw the Jazz a washcloth and tell them to go clean themselves up.

Didn't mean anything to me, but don't tell the Jazz.

I know what he meant, and I agree. I'd move Middleton at the height of his value in a second for Exum

Hornets are last in 3pt percentage and are looking to win this year with the recent trade for Mo Williams. I wouldn't mind shipping Ersan for Zeller and filler. Then we have a 22 year old backup PF/C and can cut JOB.

If Ersan for Stauskas/Thompson was really on the table and we didn't pull the trigger I am not happy about that.

I give Ersan a ton of **** (deservedly so), but to me he really is the last holdover from Kohl. Getting rid of him and not having to think about it anymore would be a great relief to my soul..Not to mention he's been awful. Like JOB awful.

I'd do that for sure. I think Zeller is a much better fit for us than them.

ersan for stauskas/Thompson id say yes of course.
ersan for zeller id absolutely do too except I kind of have a soft spot for the hornets and that would be robbing them. I believe theyd know that too.

middleton for exum? nah. exum totally sucks.

No chance Utah even considers Exum for Middleton and we would be fools not to do that trade if it was on the table. I mean, come on.

I'm not sure Exum totally sucks but I sure wouldn't risk Middleton to find out. Ppl on board with that move are crazy imo and clearly care more about "what ifs". I definitely care most about what can you do for me now and moving forward. Middleton has turned the corner already and shown he has a very high ceiling and there's no way I pass that up for a flier on a kid that looks like lt could be 3yrs from now just to see what you've got... I like Exums potential, sure, but Middleton has been fantastic and easily worth being just as excited over.

Ppl with these boners for these project players that we won't know jack about for 3-5yrs from now need to strongly consider becoming 6ers fans. No Bucks fan at this point should have any intention on breaking down the roster or be totally blinded by youtube videos and scouting reports by non NBA measures. IIRC Middleton was a college stud and a potential lotto pick before he messed his knee up. He can't be as good as any #4 pick in the draft tho? That's a moronic theory, especially after all the busts we've seen come and go over the years...
