But that’s where the league’s new cap environment becomes a factor. There is a feeling around the league that teams that aren’t free-agent destinations are coming to grips with their cap room being less valuable than ever. If free-agency behemoths have major room, the little guys will scrap for leftovers over the next few summers. Dealing for a player on an expiring contract, or even a guy with just one year left, holds less appeal than it used to. That guy can bolt almost immediately and enter a frothy marketplace of beaches, big cities, and friendly tax jurisdictions.

Is this us, or are we really sold on Kidd as a recruiter? Lowe:

Bucks get: Fields, Valanciunas, and Ross
Raptors get: Ersan, Pachulia, JOB3 and a pick?
Fields is expiring I believe, and we get Ross and Valanciunas that can help us "long term" The money works out.
Then do another trade with Mayo or keep him.
Raptors would say no so fast

I don't get why they hate Jonas so much. There have been so many games where he'd be beasting in the first half, only to sit most of the 3rd/4th quarters.
There is no future for either Casey or JV in Toronto. Casey prefers small-ball line up, he always puts JV on the bench when opposite team is playing with PF at C. He never takes advantage of JV's strenghts even when he starts first half something like 12/9 he finishes with 15/13 because of Casey coaching system

Just throwing something out there. Who knows what the Raptors front office is like. You get a win now in old man Pachulia, Ersan coming off injury and the highest ceiling known to man, JOB3.
Why wouldn't they want them.

What would they have interest in from our team? Dudley as an outside shooter?

I'd love to get Taj. Just don't see what Chicago would want.

What are the chances they let those guys go for only 2nd round picks? Would be awesome but is unfortunately a pipe dream.
Not sure. The way I read it was that they would only dump them, because of the Luxury Tax. Meaning they can't take any players back. I doubt anyone gives a 1st for that package.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Nah.
Kanter is a PF and too small for Center.
Has a questionable character also.

I have no interest in Reggie Jackson.
also, I expect RealGM to collapse on trade day with the enormous amounts of errors currently happening.

Re: Trade Targets (Trade Deadline less than 76 hours)
I'd do Mayo/JOB for Taj.
I don't know enough about the Bulls situation though. But that does relieve them of one year of Taj's contract at $9mm.
Dudley for Taj works and helps the Bulls out a ton with salary flexibility when they have to re-up Jimmy Butler on a max deal at $15mm per this summer. But then I'd like to see us move Ersan out for that Stauskas package.

Re: Trade Targets (Trade Deadline less than 76 hours)
Actually, how much salary do we have to clear to offer Chicago a 9M TPE for Taj?
Would the buyout be enough to open up 2-3M this year?
TPE/Clips 1st for Taj?

People familiar with how Masai Ujiri runs his teams? I just don't understand what you think the Raptors would get out of this. They give the 2 most valuable players, lose cap space, AND the players that they do get (JOB doesn't count) are old and broken. I really really don't understand why you'd be "a little mixed" on the idea though. That would be a trade that the NBA would have to investigate for being shady because it is so lopsided.

Re: Trade Targets (Trade Deadline less than 76 hours)
I think 25 minutes a night of Nikola Pekovic puts this team into the second round. I'd do Ersan, JOB and the Clippers 1st for Pek. We've got the perfect amount of length/athleticism to put around Pekovic for him to thrive here. If Minnesota were willing to part with the rights to Bjelica for our first this year I'd consider that instead of the Clippers pick.
