Bulls Maintaining Contact w/Ronnie Brewer

Can't copy a portion of the article from my phone but link above. Even with Snell coming around, it'd be good to have an extra emergency defender to throw at James in the playoffs. Who knows what he has left though.

Wouldnt see the court. He was signed last year and got no minutes and he knew the system from before and we werent as deep as we are now (though thibs still likes his 8-9 man rotations). Would just be an extra practice body, which I am not opposed to.

I remain wholly unimpressed by Matas and would be very upset not only if we trade up fo him, but if we even draft him at 11

I would be more interested in this if Thibs had actually played him last playoffs. I believe they can use another wing defender in the playoffs but barring injuries, several, doubt he would play. But on paper I would like the move, if Thibs was going to play him (a bit).

Kind of a last resort move I'd assume.

We could use the shooting.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

I'm sure we can do better. I commend the Bulls for always giving opportunities to Mike James & Ronnie but..

If the Bulls don't get anyone at the deadline, getting him + the ability to trade him as a non-guaranteed deal next summer isn't the worst idea I've heard of. Would MUCH rather have say Wayne Ellington as the 15th man but in case the cost is too high or a trade doesn't happen, last resort of Ronnie isn't terrible.

We had that ability last summer and did squat.

If nothing happens, I hope Brooklyn buys out Garnett and he comes to Chicago as a 4th/5th big. It's not ideal but it's something and Thibodeau will actually play him. Can't think of a worthwhile wing

I would love Garnett on this team

He can be the player with that attitude that we need if we get pushed around

Bulls also had to waive everyone to use cap space, something they definitely wouldn't have this summer.

Didn't Thibs use Snell against Washington. The Bulls used Snell,Kirk,DJ,MDJ and Jimmy in the playoffs. They wouldn't have won if Brewer had played 10 minutes in every game. They were outmatched and Noah was hurt. That doesn't mean Brewer could not have played if required.

If Snell or Jimmy turns an ankle, Brewer can be an insurance for those 10 minutes this time. And, this 10 minutes are different compared to last year. He will have the support of Derrick, Pau, new Jimmy rather than Kirk, Boozer and a hurt Jimmy of last year.

I hope they get a 3pt shooter but the Bulls sure can use Brewer in case Jimmy is in foul trouble for a few minutes. Or, even as helping the young guys or just as a future non-guaranteed contract for making a trade in Summer.
