I thought the Rising Stars challenge was the best part of the entire weekend
World vs USA is a great format that makes the game somewhat competitive

Ban 3 pointers in the ASG.

Highlight was Mayweather choosing Jimmy Butler as the one basketball player in the game who could transition to boxing.

I suppose that's sarcasm. I'm kind of Sheldon Cooper sometimes

I'm disappointed the East didn't design a play to get Korver an alley oop. With the amount of help defense being played and the scouting report on him, it shouldn't have been too difficult to screen his man and feint to the arc only to dive inside for the uncontested alley oop.

Anybody else get the feeling that Westbrook winning MVP may not be a good thing for the Thunder as a team? Meaning that the dynamic between him and KD is already a bit strange and seemingly a bit contentious. I can just see this being bad for OKC, somehow. Just a feeling I'm getting.

Those dudes love each other.
KD didn't even try during the game. Not sure how this matters. ALL-STAR mvp?

Strictly talking about on the floor and the way they play.
Not saying KD would be jealous in any way... He's fine. Just think Westbrook already takes too many shots and should defer more to KD. I just feel like Westbrook lets his ego drive him a lot, and it hurts at times, and this is not going to help that. Just an opinion.

But regarding the whole all star weekend...
I'm glad a lot of people enjoyed it, especially the younger ones. Regarding being a grumpy old man... ironic because I watched Saturday Night Live, live, instead of the game, and it was just outstanding(I actually got chills several times watching it and laughed and took a trip down memory lane for an hour and a half) for a grumpy old man, like me. Much better than any all star game or slam dunk contest, EVER. EVER, including Jordan at the Stadium. I was more impressed impressed with the things he did in games. Even that, as iconic as it is today, never really did it for me. I'm into the games, always have been.. for me the dope is the playoffs, in the NBA and the NHL, the NFL playoffs are great too. Even take MLB playoff games over regular season of almost any sport. All star games come last. never cared about them, never will. The dunk contest never even, ever, got me off like a first round playoff game can. Hell, give me an November Bulls/Bucks game over the glam and sham of an all star weekend, any day. Just an opinion.

Agreed, thought the weekend was fun and better than the last few years.
Enjoyed the 3 point shootout and the Slam Dunk.
Those do have to be done DVR style tho to cut out a bunch of the crap.
The game itself was up and down, but thought it got interesting late when guys started thinking defense.
They really could have tied the ASG and SNL 40 together with Barkley.
You know he was sitting there thinking - "I could be partying with the SNL crew down the road right now...."
Surprised they didn't try to link it somehow, Barkley hosted SNL a few times.

Did anyone see him give a shout out to state farm to put him with seth and paul? Haha. Totally whoring himself out for an endorsment deal
seeing those dollar signs. I thought it was funny. It happened during a segway into a commercial.
