Actually, if we dealt Mayo for Gibson then maybe Cole is just someone to bring in to pick up some of the OJ minutes that will be spread out among players.

Norris Cole is terrible. I don't want to overpay in terms of long term assets, but I do agree Taj would be a huge addition. Giannis/Gibson/Henson could cause a lot of problems.

Think it would take Mayo/Clips first at least for Gibson.

I think you're talking about Henson on top of that package to even get the conversation started.

Maybe we're getting a future pick for taking on Cole?

Possibly, but if the Bulls do in fact need to clear space for Jimmy Butler then maybe they need an expiring contract instead of Mayo's 2 year deal.

I think your logic is a little off. If they are trading Gibson to have room to sign Butler this offseason wouldn't taking salary back in either Mayo or Ersan defeat that purpose? Sure it's one less year of salary but it's next year that the Bulls will be worried about salary wise since the cap will explode in 2 years so really they don't benefit at all from this deal.

Norris Cole, holy crap. I'm interested to see what that deal would be.

How desperate do they need cap space for Jimmy Butler? If they need the space, then Henson/Clippers 1st for Taj Gibson works. It saves the Bulls about $6 million a year and we can absorb the salary.

I think K Mart deserves a little more respect than continuously being bashed on here because he's 38 and his body can't really hold up anymore.

I'm reasonably certain I saw a version of this where you'd written 'his body can't really old up anymore'... Did you sneaky edit?

The Bulls would want our 2015 1st + another asset to even consider trading Taj, you guys are deluding yourselves if you think OJ Mayo will get it done. Gibson a solid defensive big and starter on a bargain deal, they're not looking to dump him.

This deadline could be very interesting.

Hard to know what to expect given that it is the first with the new owners. Will be interesting whether they will be true to their word (and promotions) with 'Own the Future', or whether they will cash their chips for **** like Herb.

We send the pick to Denver, Denver sends Afflalo to Chicago, Chicago sends Taj to Milwaukee. And include any need be fillers. Seems like a win for everyone.

I actually don't think Chicago needs to cut salary. What is the cap next year? Right now they have about $61m on the books for next season. I'm pretty sure they could structure a deal with Butler and stay under the cap. It doesn't appear they are in a position that they need to dump a contract (so it will be hard to get Taj).

Aren't we forgetting something? We need an actual center and pg. Not another thin power forward. I want Lawson who is averaging 17 and 10 a game

We need good players. Gibson is a good player.

Guilty as charged, sir. I thought I was quick with the edit but apparently not. Nice catch and my accidental genius thanks you lol.
