TT won't let him hit the market if indeed negotiations are starting.

And the TEs make nothing and cutting Hawk/Jones makes this a no brainer.

If that is all he wants it's a no brainer.

With the way the cap goes up, his age, versatility, and production.....that is easy. Get it done for the same as Jordy.

4-years/$36 million with a $16mm bonus sounds fine to me. Jordy got an $11mm bonus in his deal, and I'd expect Cobb to want and have the leverage for more.

This is a no brainer. Get Cobb signed for 9 mil leaves the team after aj hawk and jones cut with around 20mil. Thats some decent room left.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we normally go into a given season with ~$10 million left in cap space, correct? That means they probably can sign either Bulaga or Tramon plus maybe Raji on a small contract and that's about it?

Yeah i believe they carried around 7 mil this year over. They are about 15 mil under. Jones/Hawk cutting saves 7.5. They still have the rookie pool so leave out about 4-5 mil i think. So after cobb they got about 15 million left. Bulaga maybe 7-8 mil and they ccould do tramon. They could also restructure Peppers too.

We usually carry that cap space to be flexible with offering extensions to the upcoming free agents.

2016 looks to be a light year in that regard.

2016 free agents:

Hawk, Jones, Neal, Perry, Crosby, Starks, Quarless, Hayward, Goode, Daniels for the UFA

Taylor, Mulumba, Gerhart for the RFA crowd, would have been Bostick as a RFA as well but he is gone

This is the year to lock our guys up and use the cap space imo.

Yeah, looking at that crop, they could sign almost all the way up to the cap this year but maybe save a little bit to extend Daniels or Hayward.

That whole crop is a bunch of players that I could take or leave. I really like Neal, Starks, Hayward, and Daniels...but Daniels is the only one I'd feel really crappy about losing. I do also really like Hayward but I have no idea what his market will be.

The overly-simplistic fan view that probably is not realistic:

2015: Sign Cobb, Bulaga, cut Hawk/Jones, maybe Tramon or Raji (wild card Julius Thomas could replace or barely fit in)
2016: Cut Peppers if necessary and sign Hayward, Neal, Daniels. Still might have plenty of room to extend Lacy and make another splash.

I can't imagine they let Cobb get away. Ted would get killed if this drags out, and then Cobb goes and signs with Seattle in Harvin's role (if they can even afford him), lol.

I like this wrap-up.

My only slightly different overly-simplistic fan view:

2015: Same, except no Thomas, both Tramon and Raji, plus Guion (provided he doesn't get suspended for a long time by the NFL, I don't think he will)

The hold up with Cobb isnt the per year salary. 9 mill is a no brainer for the Pack. The hangup has got to be on how much guarantee money he gets. Not much of a worry that'll get worked out.

Your list is pretty good though but ughhh 8 mill for Bulaga...... hes our biggest priority after Cobb and I really dont want to lose him but im a believer that certain positions have "caps" on how much u spend on them.... ie: I think spending anything over 10 million on a CB is suckers move..... 8 mill is probably the cap id ever want to spend on a RT but even then id only do that for the best RT in the league..... then again supply n demand so I digress.

But yeah good very probable list but id also add in there restructuring Peppers too.
