Boogie would cost far more than that.

Both? You mean this years and next years? That still doesn't come close to landing Cousins. It'd maybe be enough to get one of his headbands tho.

I'm still trying to push that Hammond has been building a Pistons type team in terms of roles for years now. He is only finally seeing success. Even if missing players like Sanders was our B. Wallace, and Parker was our R. Wallace, I think the remaining players work out in terms of styles and roles they fill.

I'm ok with any of these trades really (Gibson, Lawson), as long as we don't give up Giannis/Parker/Middleton. Gibson will be a year and a half rental though. Even if Ersan and Mayo salary is cleared, I don't see Gibson re-signing with us because Giannis and Parker eat up all his minutes. So if the price is too steep, remember it is for a short term player.

Gibson's contract is through 2016-17.

Ah, I was off a year. Ok, that makes it a bit better now and we get him in his prime.

The thing is if the Bulls made him available, they're going to get better offers than Mayo and the Clippers pick.

I just don't see them getting an appreciably better offer than that. Again, he's turning 30 and while a great glue guy who does the little things that help you win, he doesn't have gaudy stats or rebound rates. That takes out over half the teams in the league that are rebuilding or on their way but don't want to give up assets for a guy that age.

The bigger issue to me is whether you make a deal with a team 90 miles to the South that is in your conference.

You're really underestimating Taj and overestimating the Bucks package. Every contender right now would kill to have him.

Yes, but not every contender can/will give up a 'win now' piece as well as a future piece. Mayo helps them this season and they get a 1st round pick. There aren't many contending teams that would be willing to part with a contributing piece like Mayo.

I'd much rather make a more minor deal for Plumlee or biyombo or whoever than go all in this season on guys pushing 30.

Which Plumlee?

I was thinking Miles. We can't trade for the other one.

the more I think about it the more Taj seems like a really shrewd trade for us though. that oj and clips 1st trade I'd do. I worry that they'll demand a guy like middleton or dudley coming back.

We'd need to make some kind of deal for a bench shooter after that.

I liked the suggestion of working with Denver to send Afflalo to Chicago, Gibson to us, and a pick or two and/or prospect(s) to them. We'd likely have to send the Clips pick to Denver and maybe a young asset to get it done, but that seems to be the deal that makes the most sense in my mind if you want Taj.

Normally I'd think teams have moved beyond this, but with both teams going to the playoffs, there is more opportunity for egg on the face should the two teams face one another. A GM might not want to risk that.

Anyone recall the rumor that someone in Vegas ran into Mayo in an elevator, and he said he was going to be traded to Chicago?

If we can somehow turn Ersan, Mayo, and the Clippers 1st into Taj Gibson and Nik Stauskas then I am going to be thrilled. It seems to be the most realistic of dream scenarios.

Yeah because if you know anything about the Bucks board, it's that we value box score warriors.

Take a look at the thread about our best box score warrior, Brandon Knight. Then get back to me.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I'd still be fine giving Mayo and Ersan away for just about anything.

Yeah and Boozer went 28 and 9 against us, what's your point. You can keep him

Knight, next year's 1st (not Clips pick), and Henson? Does that get it done? If so, I'm in. Throw in the Clips pick too and I'm still in. Try to pick up a stopgap PG who can shoot a bit and roll from there. In general though, what is with Karl wanting to trade Cousins? Does this make any sense?

I remember that. Maybe Bucks told him to play his tail off for half a season and they'll get him to Chicago... Seems like a stretch.

They clearly didn't give him a big enough scoop of meat at the Chipotle counter.
