I like the black jerseys because in old sports movies, the team with black jerseys are always really good (and usually the "bad guys").

Re: The Positivity Thread
I know we've all said this many times before but for real, the future looks very bright for our Wolves!!!
MVP of the Rising Stars game
Slam Dunk champ who definitely created a buzz
Rookie of the Year
One of the best pure passers in the league
Another high draft pick (I'm hoping for Okafor)
Young guys getting some valuable minutes this season.
I mean, when you think of all the teams in he NBA who are struggling to build back up a franchise, having a young talented core of Rubio
Wiggins
LaVine
Muhammad
Dieng
Payne(ok, this is a maybe depending on what he actally look like on the court)
Bennett (big maybe)
High Draft Pic (hopefully Okafor)
Really doesn't look too bad in my humble opinion.
I like the diretion we're heading and I love our young core!!!

1. Garnett is back!
2. The young pups opened some eyes over the all-star weekend.
3. Wiggins is running away with the ROY and is blossoming into a star.
4. The Wolves are 5-4 in February with their losses coming against Dallas, Atlanta, Golden State, and Houston.

Pretty sure we don't need this thread anymore, the whole board is tilting positive again. Heck, the whole franchise.
Glad Flip is in charge. Everyone makes mistakes, but he's doing a lot more right then wrong.
Now get us a good coach Flip.

Re: The Positivity Thread
No more need to talk about cool jerseys.
Wolves pulled off the first successful tank in 11 years and there's not only a #1 talent, but a great fit two way player at the top of this year's draft.
If they draft Towns the positivity meter will most likely break.
Lol... and Wiggins is still going to be a super star.
Outside of the best KG years, has there been a better time to be a Wolves fan?
I don't think so.

The possibility to give Wiggins & LaVine a legit big to play with is very intriguing. The core will be in place soon and able to grow for a couple years.
Good times ahead.

Seriously how bright is the future for this team?
If someone had told me the Wolves would turn Love into 3 #1 picks, two of them being franchise caliber players... I'd have looked like this...

I guess positive energy works!

Re: The Positivity Thread
Since David Stern stepped down as NBA commissioner, the Minnesota Timberwolves...
-Traded Kevin Love for Andrew Wiggins
-Traded for Kevin Garnett
-Won the NBA Draft Lottery for first time in franchise history
-Opened a state-of-the-art practice facility
Tomorrow, we will add to that by (hopefully) selecting Karl-Anthony Towns.
I think Stern should've retired about 25 years ago...

Silver seems to be pretty keen on Taylor from what I recently read. Can't even think of any comment on the Wolves made by Stern in his last years before stepping down.
Not that I think there's a correlation between which commissionaire is at the helm, though. Just saying.

I think Stern may have held a bit of a grudge with the Wolves after the Joe Smith fiasco. Seems like the Wolves never got a break after that during the Stern era.
Not only is Silver a better commissioner, but the league is at it's most popular and hopefully the Wolves are about to add the 3rd piece to their big 3 of the future (Towns).
Seriously... who the hell could have seen this coming 12 months ago?
Positive energy works Wolves fans!

Re: The Positivity Thread
Towns said it in one of his interviews...one pick can change a franchise.
Think of the Spurs before David Robinson, or the Cavaliers before LeBron James. These were small-market teams who had no future. One pick came and changed all of that. Similar thing happened to the Chicago Bulls in 2008.
Crazy thing is, we might have more talent on our roster today than any of those teams did when they got the top pick.

Yeah, I agree, it's possible even without the #1 pick we might be in the playoffs sooner rather than later, but that's how highly I think of Wiggins and our current core. You add a guy like Towns and we basically have 2 chances at the Lebron James / David Robinson level of franchise changing player.
Really this was a 35 win team that lost a million games to injuries, there's no way we should have the #1 pick but we do, if Towns is as advertised we're going to be extremely good.

You're making me way too optimistic right now.

Re: The Positivity Thread
Someone on the general board said that every team that has had back to back #1 picks has ended up in the Finals within 3 years. I haven't fact checked it, but it's true for the 3 cases I can think of: Houston, Orlando, and Cleveland.

Re: The Positivity Thread
I haven't been this optimistic since shortly after the 2004 season. Back then, I was thinking "Hopefully Cassell can get and stay healthy, and with another year of familiarity between KG, Cassell & Sprewell, plus another offseason move or two, we can win it all." Then we all know what happened from there.
I honestly haven't felt this excited since then. Towns + Wiggins is enough to be excited about for the future. Add in Rubio, LaVine, Bazz, Dieng, Pek, KG, and this has the makings of something very special in just a short couple of years.
The Basketball Gods have cursed us over the past decade (and really, our entire existence). Maybe the pendulum is swinging to our favor. Oh, hear our prayers, Basketball Gods, please let us finally avoid the injury bug for the next few seasons. Let all of our young guns reach their potential! Amen!

The only time I can think of having this much hype locally and nationally was after beating Sacto.

Re: The Positivity Thread
I may have to make the road trip to PHX this year to see the Wolves play on the road.
I also have a feeling that much like Target Center will be busier in the future, I have a feeling this board will see it's share of bandwagoners and new fans, which is fine. I'm all for more people liking the Wolves.
I think it's good for us to take the time to appreciate this moment. A lot of us have been with this team through some really tough years and these are the types of moments that make that time seem worth it.
You have to know what losing is to really appreciate winning and you have to go through bad times to really appreciate the good.
No matter how many people flood to support this team once they start winning, we will appreciate it more than they ever could.
It feels like the franchise has been surrounded by storm clouds the last 11 years. Each time the sun would poke through the clouds, more clouds would roll in.
It feels like the sun is finally shining on the Wolves and the storm clouds are no where in sight.
Best day to be a Wolves fan in the last 11 years.
Enjoy it!
