To be honest, I don't blame Dragic for wanting to go to NY or LA. Two destination locations that have a fu*k-ton of cap space on the horizon and high draft picks. Neither are going to be bad locations for long.

Mavs gotta be killing themselves they didn't wait it out for Dragic right? Their offense woulda been EPIC.

LMAO of course

:banghead:

Does Dragic think it's three years ago? Outside of being big markets I wouldn't want to go to any of those three teams right now.

I like Mike Muscala in a sneaky small trade as a guy who could give us some minutes. 6-11 physical dude, buried deep behind one of the best frontcourts in the NBA.

I would imagine Lakers or Knicks would have to send out their pick in a trade, right? I mean what other assets do they have? Broken Randle is the only valuable player between both teams, imo

I've brought up Muscala a couple of times over the last couple of months, I think he'd fit well here.

What kind of leverage does Phoenix have, though? If a heavily protected 2017 1st or a 2nd rounder is the best offer they get, that's what he'll be traded for.

I think the return is going to be very ugly for PHX. Knicks are not giving up their pick and Lakers already owe a first round pick to PHX.

Deng/Napier/2017 1st for Dragic/Green? Heat don't even have their own 1st this year. You guys are right, this could get pretty brutal for PHX

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/writer/ken ... approaches
- The Rockets, always a factor at the deadline, are aggressively pursuing a deal with Phoenix for point guard Goran Dragic, league sources say. Such a deal would likely center around Rockets guard Patrick Beverley; otherwise, Dragic, a prospective free agent, would be stuck in the same three-guard rotation that he finds himself involved with in Phoenix. While rival executives remain convinced that the Suns prefer to move Isaiah Thomas out of their three-headed backcourt, they may not have a choice. A league source confirmed that Dragic's agent, Bill Duffy, informed the Suns Tuesday night that he would not re-sign with Phoenix this summer. And the Rockets are not on Dragic's short list of teams to which he prefers to be traded, the source said.

- The Kings are deeply committed to making a roster upgrade at the deadline, in their incessant quest to placate DeMarcus Cousins, league sources say. Chief among their targets is Denver's Arron Afflalo, whose services would require the surrendering of a significant asset. Though it puzzles some rival execs why the Kings would trade the eighth pick in the 2014 draft for a veteran with a player option, Nik Stauskas is the carrot the Kings are dangling in deals they're seeking to upgrade the roster for new coach George Karl.

- Speaking of the 20-33 Nuggets, they're in full-on firesale mode. Rival execs say virtually everyone is available, with Ty Lawson and Wilson Chandler (with only $2 million guaranteed next season) registering the most interest.

- The Wizards are looking for a play-making guard to join Andre Miller on the second unit, league sources say. But Washington is more likely to scour the buyout and overseas markets to fill that role rather than give up an asset to get one in a trade. The Pelicans, similarly, are in the market for a backup point guard.

- Teams are testing Milwaukee's resolve to enter restricted free agency with Brandon Knight, league source say. The Bucks have thus far been steadfast in their desire to keep Knight, whose team-high 17.8 points and 5.4 assists per game have been key to positioning them solidly in the sixth playoff spot in the East.

- The Celtics are playing both sides of the fence, trying to extract assets and picks in deals while also trying to move high-priced veterans such as Brandon Bass, sources say. Tayshaun Prince seems destined for a buyout, but those talks won't get serious until after the deadline. The Clippers remain the front-runners to land Prince if he's bought out.

- Rival teams expect the Thunder to ultimately move Reggie Jackson before the deadline, a move that would help them step out of the luxury tax this season and help them stay out of the tax in future years.

- Teams trying to move high-priced veterans like Prince, Andrea Bargnani (Knicks), Bass (Celtics), Kevin Martin (Timberwolves) and David Lee (Warriors) aren't likely to find any takers. All of the above, besides Lee, would then be headed for buyouts, sources say.

It's still top 5 protected this year. Lakers find themselves in the top 5 of the lotto and they keep the pick. 6 and beyond and It goes to Phoenix. I believe it becomes unprotected next year if LAL gets to keep it this year but im not 100%. It could drop to top 3 protected before it goes unprotected.

If the Suns have to deal with the garbage LA and NY have to offer they might as well just keep him and spend the next 6 months trying to change his mind.
