I like how this discussion develops. First, someone drops crazy idea and then, bunch of writers start arguing each other about this idea without even considering is it real or not. Boogie' trade is considered as almost already happened. But there are 2 questions:
1. Is there any message that Boogie asked for trade?
2. Is there any indication that Sacto wants this trade in any shape?

BTW, Kennedy wrote (pls go back to p.1 if you are not too lazy)
Teams like Toronto and Denver want to acquire a star. There's only one problem: There really aren't any star players available right now.

So what is all this fuss about?

Summarizing: 9 days without a game is far too long for Raps' board

The deal OKC eventually settled for was garbage. Why no other team in the entire league stepped up with a better offer is a mystery.

In the end, I think the Raps were probably peddling Derozan but at the time OKC thought Kevin Martin was better so they went with the Rockets. Derozan + picks was a better offer than what OKC got. Lowry-Harden-Gay-Jonas-Amir = championship.

In the end, building NBA teams is a crapshoot. Fans give far too much credit to successful GMs and far too much hate for failed GMs. Sam Presti was viewed as one of the best GMs in the league...yet he made the worst trade in recent memory. Colangelo is viewed as a clown yet if Presti had been smart and accepted Derozan, the Raps may have actually successfully built a contender around Harden.

Raps knew Harden wouldn't re-sign here.

Definitely he is going for bigger market, so he can do better (or US national wise) promotions than NBA2K15.

Reportedly, OKC really liked Valanciunas and Derozan. There were several rumored trades involving these guys for Harden. One that comes to mind is Valanciunas and a 1sr rounder for Harden.

BC would not give up on Valanciunas. But not Massai is reportedly making him available for a true star type player. Would the Raps make the deal today?..... Hell yeh!

Problem was Harden was not an established superstar. He only has potential to be one..... Just like Valanciunas.

Never the less. Missed oppotunity.

No more threads from you please.

Please realize that whatever random thought you have in your head is not worth sharing on the largest Raptors forum on the internet. Sometimes the optimal choice is silence.

Harden trade: Why BC backed off but Massai...

People need to stop bringing up this "alleged" trade proposal. OKC called I every team and inquired about players as they only had like 48 hours to trade him. If the Raps said yes does that mean it was a done deal? No! Houston still has quite a bit of assets to make a better offer.

The only way I trade those two is for an allstar C. Cousins or Gasol if they commit long term. Otherwise, let those two grow.

Carmelo - just no for obvious reasons
KD / Westbrook - untouchable
Anthony Davis - untouchable
Hayward - not a position of need
Wiggins - Franchise player
Boogie - The only realistic trade option
the 3 is not a position of need?

Completely agree. Gordon Hayward would look great here. He's good off the ball, shoots decently, does most things well.

But Utah has tied their horse to an Exum, Hayward, Favors, Gobert future...with Hayward being the rock.

If they really want to make a move for a young star, it's a shame that the only guy who kind of fits the bill that is requesting a trade is Dragic, who really doesn't fit here.

The only trades that really make sense to me in terms of a "star" would require the other player to request a trade. And to be honest, I'm not really crazy about trading Ross, Valanciunas or our picks.

But these are the two that I could see us going for:

Sac trades: Demarcus Cousins
Tor trades: Ross, Valanciunas, Fields, Our 2015 First Rd Pick, The NY/Denver 2016 First Round pick.

We essentially give up a bunch of our assets to get a great player, and instantly become the team in the east that nobody wants to play. Cousins comes into a good situation: a winning team with good character guys like Lowry, Demar, Amir who work hard and care about winning first.

Sac makes this trade (only if Boogie wants out) because they get back solid value for a star. I still don't think they'd accept it if their hand wasn't forced, because in my opinion you should never trade guys with talent like Cousins.

Or (and this has a less chance of happening:

Tor trades: Ross, Valanciunas, Fields, Our 2015 First Rd Pick, The NY/Denver 2016 First Round pick.
San Antonio trades: Kawhi, and Splitter

We get the perfect complimentary SF to our scoring/chucking backcourt, and a decent replacement for Jonas. San Antonio gets a pretty good return for Leonard. I don't see why they'd want to trade their finals MVP, so I guess it's not that realistic.
