Kanter is worth the 29 game tryout in my eyes (plus how many other playoff games), outside of the top 3-4 Centers, all of whom projected top 10 in the draft, Kanter has the most potential among the 2015 draft class.

lol if you put it that way sure he has the most potential.. but he still awful in two areas that imo Centers should be best in.. Rim protection and passing.

Cool. Your defensive system is nothing like ours. I've seen Drew Gooden have 'spurts' on the basketball court too. Feel free to provide some stats of Kanter's opponents while he is guarding them. Perhaps some stats of him defensively at Center vs him at PF.

1. PF vs. C is largely the same thing in the Jazz offense while Favors and Kanter are on the court. They occupy the same regions on the floor and they switch matchups often.

2. Defensive analytics are very flawed in my eyes. Eye test are much better in this case, but here was a recent tweet about Kanter's defensive improvement, take it for what it's worth. "Since Enes Kanter came back from injury Jazz defensive rating with him on the floor is 99.0 with him off floor is 104.3 (16 games)"

3. I can say, without a doubt, Kanter has shown a lot of defensive improvement this year.

We have Favors and Gobert. I don't want to pay a 3rd big a lot of money, especially when we have a major need for better wings.

our horizontal defense has made zaza pachulia into one of the top defensive centers in the league. kanter is built like a better moving pachulia, but doesnt have his awareness. meanwhile Henson went from a fairly selfish iso scoring unaware big in his own right...to pretty damn effective himself. his numbers are up exponentially across the board in the way we'd want to see them.

its possible kanters weaknesses can be absolved in our system... or at least our brass thinks this. its also possible that kanter is our longterm replacement for zaza in what is a pretty damn good defense not dependant on a dominant big. personally watching us i think the bigs role is pretty simple.

maybe.. just maybe... kanter could work. i hate giving up a #1, but if there was a bright side id be glad we get a 30 game audition before wed have to pay him. maybe that pick is worth that trial with the upside involved.

Yeah i think the hope would be that Zaza could mold Kanter into a version of himself. Kanter's never going to be a rim protector but if he can improve his man D and learn how to show on screens etc he could be a useful player. Just think that judgement is hasty at best because he has played with one team, and that team sucks. If we bring him in and that is the result, so be it, pay him 7-8m or let him walk. Kanter is a better overall talent than Henson though for sure. If we could get Kanter for Henson and the Clips 1st, I believe you have to make that move, Kanter has top 10 talent at the Center spot.

Kanter is neither slow, nor plodding. I've seen that around here lately and I'm wondering where it's coming from.

He's clearly very athletic. His issues are rim protection and passing.

I think there's legs to the Jackson and Kanter rumors. If you're looking for a strategy, it seems like it would be to horde young, talented RFAs this summer, offer slightly better than current market deals, and dare them to sign qualified offers. If they manage to clear either Ersan or Bayless they could conceivably sign all three of Jackson, Knight and Kanter to deals that look pricey now, but not so much when free agents start signing $20 million deals in 2016.

Acquire talent now, worry about how it fits later.
