Dragic wants to get somewhere where he can prove his worth the next 30 games to net a big contract. Why would be hurt his chances of that?

The FO being in on the leak makes zero sense. None whatsoever. It makes complete sense for Dragic/his agent to do it. It severely tanks his trade value outside of the big markets (LA/MIA/NY) he wants to go to. It also forces us to trade him.

If the FO wasn't blindsided like this, if he would have just quietly told us he wasn't going to resign, we would have traded him at the last minute to Houston for a very nice haul. But no, he wants his 5 year max money from LA or NY.

Can you explain this to me more? How does tanking his trade value benefit him? I'm really interested in nailing this down.

Dragic wants to be traded right now. The Suns do not have to trade him right now. They can do what many have suggested and keep him, either killing his value or trying to fix the relationship. If Dragic doesn't want this to be a possibility, he should do everything possible to help get a trade done.

This guy's tweets sounds like the ultimate conspiracy theory.. Dragic is going to do everything possible to screw the Rockets and is willing to sacrifice 1yr at $20M and half of a season to do it? haha I highly doubt that.

He's legit hes proven himself with a bunch of stuff including the Dwight trade. im passing this info along so phx knows whats going on... because all of you still think Woj is spewing out accurate info. Nobody really knows what the truth is now with Goran being a diva and his agent misdirecting everything. It looks like he's sticking it to the Suns and Rockets.. POS ruined your chances of ever getting anything good out of a trade. to reinstate.. gorans list of teams interested in is FALSE, MISDIRECTION, BS, NOT TRUE

What's done is done. Goran should get traded. He's not worth a max contract anyway, and some idiot is probably going to offer it to him this off-season. I just hope McD gets something worthy in return. I wish Goran best in the future, who know, he might just end his career in Phoenix.

I still want Thomas out too tho. For whatever. And if possible, I want him traded to western conference playoff team. That might be the best chance for Suns to sneak into the playoffs.

So you think Coro, NotTraxxe and ray ray are getting their info from Dragic's agent and not connections to the front office? Interesting.

That would be the worst possible thing to to do. Besides the fact that I believe Dragic's agent has made this a point of no return now, giving a non all star point guard who's best year ever was averaging only 20 pts and 6 assists a game 20 million dollars a year for five years is ludicrous.

Dragic is averaging 16 pts, 4 assts, and 4 rbs a game. His overall field goal percentage is good at 50% but his 3pt % is 35.5% and his ft % is only 74.6%. That is a terrible free throw percentage for a point guard. Is a soon to be 29 year old who averages 16, 4, and 4 worth a 100 million dollar contract? I feel like I am in the twilight zone here. What in the world is going on. So what the Suns signed Isaiah Thomas and lost Channing Frye. Bledsoe seems to be doing fine. Thomas has almost the same averages off the bench as Dragic does starting and Thomas plays nearly 8 minutes less per game than Dragic.

This is crazy. You cannot give Dragic five years, 100 million dollars. If people think Bledsoe is overpaid, just wait until you see Dragic getting 20 million a year and not even making an all star team. Now that is insane. Kevin Love is supposed to get a max contract this offseason or next offseason right. Well he has career averages of 19 pts, 12 rbs, and 2.5 asst a game. Dragic's career averages are 12 pts, 4.5 asst, and 2.6 rbs a game. See this difference in statistics for someone who actually puts up max contract statistics versus Dragic? The Suns rewarding Dragic with a max contract after a bad year like he is having and his no leadership, selfish intentions would be a massive mistake.

In all honesty Nash's stats weren't GREAT or too far off Dragic's at 29 when leaving Dallas.

I'm actually still completely unsure of how I feel about all this but just wanted to point out the fact that Nash's numbers were similar... he got to run his own show when he got to Phoenix and started to KILL it!

Steve Nash was an offensive mastermind though. He had the highest IQ of any player I've ever watched and he was the best shooter and passer in the entire NBA and one of the best ball handlers. Dragic is great but his shooting, passing, IQ and ball handling will never even be comparable to prime Nash.

Regardless of statistics, before Nash came back to Phoenix, he had already made two all star teams and been third team All NBA twice. But even ignoring those awards, he was a completely different player than Dragic and far superior. Furthermore, throwing that at the window, the Suns did not even give Nash a max contract. "As first reported by ESPN.com's Marc Stein on Thursday afternoon, Nash agreed to a six-year package worth more than $65 million -- with the sixth season partially guaranteed and the Suns holding a team option for the full amount in Year 6." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1833028 A max contract if I remember correctly would have been in the 90 million dollar range in 2004. Suns got Nash for far less than a max. And by doing that, they were able to go out and give Quentin Richardson a 6 year, 45 million dollar contract too. Dragic wants 5 years, 100 million dollars for basically being a really good player last season. See the insanity? It is beyond the realm of possibility why anyone would give him that kind of money unless they are so desperate for a free agent that they would do anything to get him (Lakers and Knicks).

Yeah, I posted the same. They were very close at age 27. I think Dragic was better in many areas. He regressed with the reduced role, but he's not nearly as bad as people are making him out to be. Obviously, if that many teams want him badly.

For the record though, I certainly don't think he's worth anything near $20 million a year.

Despite all this info flying around, I'm going to be pretty surprised if he ends up getting anywhere near that kind of money. But with the rising cap in 2016, teams could start going even more crazy than usual.
