The Celtics traded two draft picks to the Warriors to get Robert Parish and the draft pick they used to take Kevin McHale. (I think the trade was technically made before the draft. Even if I'm wrong on that detail, the effect was as I said.)

How did they get those draft picks?

By trading Bob McAdoo to the Pistons

Here's a good one. One player was officially a Celtics twice at a interval of six years but didnt play a single minute for the team.
Who is he?

Yes, but there's also another way to describe that deal.

I think that C's sign ML Carr and then McAdoo was traded to Pistons as some kind of compensation...
When McAdoo was traded to Boston (then owner John Brown make this trade to please his future wife, former Miss America Phyllis George). Celtics give Knicks 3 first round pick in 1979. draft and this trade almost chase Red Auerbach out of town. Imagine if this trade didnt happen. Celtics in 1979. drafted Sidney Moncrief #3 (Knicks drafted Bill Cartwrtight), drafted Cliff Robinson #9 (Knicks drafted Larry Demic) and Sly Williams #21 (like Knicks). In 1979/80 Celtics team could be:
Tiny Archibald, Sidney Moncrief, Larry Bird, Cedric Maxwell, Dave Cowens
Gerald Henderson, Chris Ford, Jeff Judkins, Cliff Robinson, Rick Robey.
As good as Monrief became, and Robinson and Williams were good...i'm glad we end up with Parish, McHale and Carr

Correct.

And thus M. L. Carr is by far the most important free agent signing Red Auerbach ever made!

Imagine this. In 1979. Lakers and Bulls toss a coin for #1 pick. Of course Fakers won and select Magic Johnson. But Magic says that if Bulls won #1 pick he would go back to college. And in 1980. Celtics had a #1 and a #13 pick. Imagine if we drafted Magic and lets say Jeff Rulland. In 1979/80 we could have starting five of Nate Archibald, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Cedric Maxwell and Dave Cowens. Bench Henderson, Ford, Carr, Rulland and Robey. Well...we never know...

Two other Celtics Croats were Zan Tabak and Bruno Sundov...

But i still waiting the answer on question which player was officially a Celtics twice at a interval of six years but didnt play a single minute for the team.

And something easy: who is the only player:
a) born in Boston
b) played for Boston College
c) played for Boston Celtics ?

I'm not finding it easy. Chris Herren would be a guess, but I can't confirm he was born in Boston. Where he went to high school is documented as Fall River, but that is outside the radius where people can be expected to use Boston hospitals for childbirth.

Not Cliff Hagan; the six year figure would be too long. It would have to be somebody who truly became a Celtic on two different occasions.

Dahntay Jones, perhaps? No. Looking him up, the gap is 4 years. Hmm ...

Close...but this player birthplace is listed Boston. And played his entire NCAA career for Boston College (Herren played only one game for Boston College, 3 seasons for Fresno State)...

Jones was drafted by Celtics, but it was prearranged deal where he and Troy Bell were traded to MEM for Marcus Banks and Kendrick Perkins. His situation is similar to Jeff Green, only Green played for Celtics in real games, Jones only in preaseason.
Still waiting for right answer. A little help. In first stint C's sign him as a free agent, in second stint he came in trade...

And we have a winner!
Congratulation. Pitino signed him as a FA and soon traded him to Knicks in a Walter McCarty deal. He was traded to Celtics in Antoine Walker Mavs deal but was injured and never played before he was traded to Hawks in Rasheed Wallace to Pistons deal.

Man, Chris Herren. Sad stuff.

Also, no one answered my earlier question:

Thought it was pretty easy but maybe not?

Bonus: what was written on the crown of our first Leprechaun/jester logos?

I'd like the answer to be a guy from the old days, when there were territorial draft picks and so on, but it's easily not Cousy, Heinsohn, McCauley, Russell, K. C. Jones or the guys who went to Kentucky or Ohio State. Not sure BC would have been integrated that early; if it's a black guy I'd guess 70s or later. I checked Loscy and Sharman; not them. Reggie Lewis of course went to Northeastern, not BC. Vin Baker was from New England, but Connecticut. Sort of similarly Ray Allen, who went to UConn in any case.
