Was about to post the same thing. There was some speculation that Garnett going back to MN would accelerate him getting an ownership stake after he retires.
As for the Nets, Thad definitely helps them stay competitive. But he also adds more salary/luxtax for next year to a team that is up for sale. Not sure that's going to help them with buyers. Then again, with teams costing on the billions now, a few mil may not make that much difference.
