We gotta trade our pick!

Post#1 » by goldenbrandon » Thu Feb 19, 2015 1:34 pm

This draft has me so scared. We can't miss with this pick. Okafor scares me. He the consensus number one pick but I believe 3 big men are better now. Stein, Towns and Christmas. We can't afford a Greg Oden situation and miss on a KD. So my solution is to trade the top pick for a guaranteed talent. Like what Boston did. Could we get cousins with the top pick?? Who could we fish with the pick?

If we do keep the pick mudiay, the pg playing in china would be my pick. Get the dynamic guard and look to free agency for big man.

Starting five next season
Mudiay
E gordan
Melo
Milsap
Gasol

Wtf. Did you not see Okafor destroy Christmas this past weekend? Steins? LOL. Towns isn't even the focal point of Kentucky's offense. Okafor is definitely the best big available

his lack of d is a little scary. we don't exactly have the kind of environment that will help him with that either.

This is really my only concern tbh. I want so badly to believe it can get better because he's so smooth offensively

Christmas is on the verge of winning acc player of the year. Look at there numbers. I like okafor but I don't see that much seperation even if he is just a lil better. I remember when emekA okafor got similar praise at uconn. Just saying nothing is for sure except the guys already in nba. This debate is scary, because 1 out 4 of these players will be a superstar IMO and we can't mess it up.

Bro, please stop hyping up Christmas. He's a senior, and the 3 years before this dude averaged like 5 points 4 rebounds. Okafor could easily come in and average 16 and 8 his rookie season with sub-par defense.

For the sake of our number one pick I hope you're right. This is our Ewing moment and I just want the best pick. No pressure into drafting the consensus number one. Greg Oden and emekA okafor is what keeps playing in my head. Just trade the pick and put the pressure on someone else. It will be another 30 years before we get another crack at a top pick

Your missing my point. Christmas is an example. The numbers are similar. There's no way to guarantee who will be a better pro that's all I'm saying. Just off of Duke bigs vs Kentucky bigs, I'm going Kentucky by track record. Cousins and Davis compared to who, battier?

I did not know that. We better take our time with this not just take the sexy pick. This can change everything. #nobust

Ya there is. Christmas and Okafor aren't even close in talent level despite having similar numbers. Having the same stats in college doesn't mean anything...Marshon Brooks and Doug McDermott probably had stats similar to other great college players, but they suck in the NBA. Okafor isn't going to be the next Shaq, but he's still the best big man and this draft.

Why do people assume we will be lucky enough to get the #1 pick regardless of our final season record. When have the Knicks been that lucky since....1985?

what is this obsession with trading the highest pick we've had in 30 years? We are in desperate need of a paradigm shift. Even if we could (which we can't), why would yould want to? It's a deep enough draft that we are guaranteed an all-star calliber player. No more trading valuable picks. PLEASE.

It's not a guarantee we end up with all star caliber player. Blazers got lucky with redemption by getting lillard and Aldridge but you do remember Oden over Durant. I pray you're right. I personally would go with one of Kentucky bigs than okafor. Just off cousins and Davis success

This is always the gamble with the draft, which is why I've never been a fan of tanking, nor afraid to trade the pick in the past.

That said, no you don't trade the pick just because. You gotta see how things go & what's really available out there, but a whole heck of a lot depends on the other 29 teams & what happens in the playoffs. There's still a lot of time before the draft.

You not worried we might Greg Oden this thing up. It's not like we have more picks to make amense . We miss, we miss for a long time. Just saying..... You guys act like great college players always make great pros . Don't draft the hype.
