KG deal definitely sounds too good to be true. Joe Johnson deal is okay depending on what picks, Jennings coming off an achilles injury seems like a disaster. Jerebko can play.

It's a good deal for you guys I must say. Thad gives you some versatility as a defender. Question is, will KG waive the no trade clause to go to another team that's not contending?

That Johnson deal is bad to be honest unless Detroit coughs up a 1st rd pick. I'd rather keep Johnson if that's the case, Butler is atrocious and Jennings may never be the same.
I'd keep Johnson and engage in deals with Minnesota and OKC.

NO to the Johnson deal.
YES to the KG deal. (Maybe even we can swing a deal that would incorporate Rubio + Martin, for Williams + Karasev)
Young and Plumlee is probably an upgrade over KG and Plumlee at this point. In all honesty, KG should be coming off the bench for us, but the issue has been that we have no one else who is worthy of starting.
AND THEN go back to the Lopez trade for a SG like Lance or Lamb, and that's a totally younger team that will be way more fun to watch.
But again, these are OBVIOUS moves that our **** GM can't comprehend.

Re: Wolves want KG for Young; Pistons to offer Jennings, Butler, Jerebko + picks for Joe (UPDATE: Page 45)
Well...something needs to happen. End of the deadline is approaching rapidly.
Kevin Garnett has been a player I have enjoyed watching over the years. He has put in his time in Brooklyn. If Minnesota wants to reunite with him, hopefully Kevin will agree and the Nets can get younger in the process. Kevin is a HOF, but not even he can get Brooklyn over the hump.
Also, why are the Timberwolves so desperate to move Thaddeus Young?
I'm kind of meh on Kevin Martin. I watched plenty of him in OKC to not be that impressed with him. However--if it means getting Thaddeus I'm all for it.

Re: Wolves want KG for Young; Pistons to offer Jennings, Butler, Jerebko + picks for Joe (UPDATE: Page 45)
The Joe Johnson trade is a absolutely TERRIBLE trade, on multiple levels:
1) Win now: Making this trade pretty much gaurantees we miss the playoffs. Right now joe is our best player and our ONLY reliable wing. Jennings is out for the year. We create a whole at SF when SG is already maybe our weakest spot
2) 16-17 Cap: Jennings contract, while 14M less then Johnson's runs 1 year longer and into 2016-17 eating up cap space the year we need to keep clean. We would have 32 Million tied up into 2 below average point gaurds with injury/consistency issues who arent top 12 at their position. that would be a nightmare
3) Next Year's cap: This move doesnt even get us under the cap next season unless Joe or Deron are moved for 100% expirings. and even if one of them is, it still doenst give us tons of cap room. if its brook we still wouldnt be able to offer a max contract. it is very unlikely someone gives us pure expirings for dwill
4) The Draft Picks we'd get: Giving joe to detroit makes it really likely they get the 8 seed. thats a huge upgrade in a big area of need for them. that pick would be non or late lottery. with SVG at the helm and making good moves it is unlikely they have a lotto pick in the near future
This trade simply cripples us everywhere and helps us nowhere unless detroit implodes, doesnt protect the pick, it lands in the top 3. even then this draft isnt great.
you dont ruin the 16-17 cap space to dump joe when he expires after next season. if anything trade joe next year when he is an expiring and has more value while still holding on to some playoffs hopes

The Kevin Garnett Trade.....
I like the deal and I am inclined to do it but I fear what other moves it will lead to. he is on the books next year, so instead of KG expiring we have thad at 10 million... we also would have to make a decision and i fear king would give him 4/36 or 4/40 eating up cap space in 16-17 on a non key player.
It makes it REALLY unlikely we get under the tax next year with this move. meaning no MLE and no chance for sign and trades.
I dont think thad over KG is enough to get us to the playoffs, but i think it does improve those chances. I like the trade, i just fear what king will do with thad after the deal (extend him or not)

If we trade Joe Johnson for an injured jennings and butler/jerebko but DONT trade lopez for Lance/Marvin im going to completely lose it. like I honestly am not sure how im going to handle that as a fan. I'd probably shread the remaining of my partial ticket plan and mail it to them with a note that i wont be renewing. id still watch and root for the team, but that would piss me off so much

No to the JJ rumored deal. That's awful lol, where to begin or where do we end?
KG, that's surprising to me. I would think KG wants a contender, maybe its a front to lure a contender to dip into their pockets to pry KG from us?
Again, whether you post here or "there" I have no idea whats the grand portrait of Thaddeus Young lol... just seems like a player, nothing else. Undersized PF but does he fit Hollins' style? or do we move him to SF? should KG be moved, we are all of a sudden very thin in the big man rotation.

I say don't do the Joe deal, that's easy. At this point, I **** love KG no matter what, and if he's ok with the trade and we can swing Thad as our starting PF I'm down.
I don't mind his contract for next year if he can produce
If we also sing Blatche, I'll be much happier than I was a couple days ago with this team

To me Thad young makes a TON of sense if you also:
1) Sign Blatche (fixes depth at PF issue)
2) Move lopez in a deal that brings back a wing (Lamb/Lance/Gerald Henderson/Whomever - Solves SG issue)
But just moving KG for Thad really doesnt do much. we still have the PF depth issues and we still have the huge hole at SG. We also lose KG's expiring, which all by itself gets us under next years tax. So unless king plans on moving lopez for a wing and brining Blatche in, I dont love the KG trade. I also dont like that it would enable king to do something dumb like extend thad and/or brook and thinking he can build around those 2.
i'm ok with the Thad move either way, but i dont think it makes nearly as much sense as if we made those other moves along with it.

Wolves want KG for Young; Pistons to offer Jennings, Butler, Jerebko + picks ...
My only question, is if KG leaves, who becomes the leader of this strung together mess.
KG has been the only leader available during this year and kinda last. Does Joe take over the reins?
I know it's a silly question but something that's rattling around in my headb

That Detroit deal is a bowl of garbage on multiple levels. If Jennings and Butler were expiring, I would accept the fact that we just dumped salary but that deal would not accomplish that.
I have a feeling I will be ranting like a lunatic come 3pm EST. I hope I dont get banned.

With the Thad deal the question to ask yourself is this:
Is Thad Young worth going into the repeater tax for? Because if you trade KG's expiring for him, that is essentially what is happening. I think awnser to that question is yes in only 2 scenarios:
1) You think he puts us in the playoffs
2) you think he is worth keeping long term

Without Johnson, unless something considerable happens with the roster by 3pm we aren't making the playoffs either way.
Hell, we aren't making the playoffs as is.
If Prokhorov wants to waste his money on the repeater tax, that's his problem. I'm not spending on a dime on this garbage product for the foreseeable future. At this point he and the rest of the management can go **** off.

I don't know how Young would catapult us into the playoffs.... He may be a good piece(well sought after by some) but losing KG's intensity and experience worth it? plus, we lose size in our frontcourt... got to look at Toronto, Chicago, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Wash as teams that will destroy us even more so on the boards...
Idk what's King's angle here, cap relief? playoffs? roster improvements? being a douchebag....
idk how Lance isn't here yet! bullsh*t...
