Would this be Hammond's first trade deadline without a deal?

Can't we just buy out Ersan? He is useless.

Norris Cole is getting a lot of love this deadline. Weird.

In past seasons, a deadline passing without a deal was always an anti climatic and kind of downer feeling. This year if nothing happens, I will consider the Sanders buyout and subsequent off season cap space as an optimistic development.

Garnett is expiring, Young has a PO for 9M next year. I imagine he will exercise it and become a FA when the cap balloons.

Is anyone really paying Young more than 9 million? That seems like a stretch to me.

Thats what I'm saying. PO = Player option. I'm assuming he takes his 9M next year. Which the Wolves don't have any reason to want to do. Which is another reason they are trying to get rid of it. And given that everything the Nets are doing is dumping salary for future years, it seems unlikely they would want to take on Young's salary for next year.

Not a surprise.

I guess nothing is better than a dumb deal.

Minimally I was hoping to clear Ers. He's been hot garbage so I'm not surprised we had no takers.

In his defense, he's been hurt. He was playing pretty well before getting that concussion in Cleveland.

Yup. Just can't stay healthy. It seems even more so around deadline time. Unfortunately. I bet he wants out. I bet we want to move him.

At least Ersan will be able to net the team something next season seeing as he will be expiring.

Oh, my bad. I misread it as thinking 'exercise it' meant exercising an out.

What about a lottery protected one in 2016, which is being projected as the weakest draft in a long time...?

Kind of along the same lines, I'd be doing everything possible to acquire as many 1sts as possible for 2017. That draft has the potential to be absolutely loaded

There's going to be next to no minutes available for Ersan next year when Jabari comes back. The fact he's still a Buck baffles me.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Nothing but injury problems ever since he crushed Tyreke Evans in 2010.

Despite the reports I find it nearly impossible to believe that Ersan has any trade value at all.

Yeah I think we really missed the boat not moving Ersan when he had a ton of trade value. He has turned into a total albatross contract. I should have taken it with a grain of salt that Ford was touting him having any trade value whatsoever.

Ersan is going to help us win one playoff game.

He's a good role player if he can stay healthy and get his grove back.

That said, if we trade him today I won't mind.

Trade Targets (Trade Deadline less than 3 hours)

For what it's worth, I think it was reported that Reggie Jackson is at practice too.

The good news is I think Ersan's value can go up next year. If he ever gets healthy and plays an efficient 20 min role, he could be a valuable expiring.

The best chance to trade Ersan was when he was hot the season before he signed the extension. With impending free agency, would've been the right time to cash in and he had good value around the league. If he can get healthy, I think he can contribute to this season yet.
