Danny Haren by far. I don't really know why this is can be compared. Danny Haren is the ace on the A's pitching staff and is doing great so far to start the season.

not only is haren the " luckiest" pitcher in baseball, but probably in sports, throughout time.

Another great performance for him... honestly by now I thought his location would fade a little, but its appearing to get stronger... there was one at bat against Bonds where he looked amazing, just had Bonds off balance the entire time, and he waved weakly at a splitter... he's doing a great job of scattering hits, and I think the pinpoint control I mentioned earlier is really highlighted when he pitches out of the stretch.

Another great performance from Wang on Sunday night. Lets face it, these are two of the top 5 pitchers in the AL and should be for the next few years.

Definitely think thats going overboard, but I really don't feel like arguing with you about it, so I'll just say that.

Not ML, in the AL. I think it goes Santana Halladay then you could list any number of Haren, Wang, Sabathia, Beckett, Bedard, Verlander, etc. It all comes down to personal opinion and personally I have seen enough of Wang to know 1) he doesn't get flustered 2) being flustered is why good pitchers fail in New York 3) his sinker is so goddarn heavy 4) he doesn't need to strike out so many guys because he can induce the DP 5) when healthy he is VERY tough to beat. Look at his game log since he's been healthy http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/gl ... ngch01&t=p

then look at Haren's...just sick nasty http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/gl ... enda01&t=p

I think Haren is top 10 in the AL, and Wang is just outside the top 10 in the AL. I think my top 8 (in order) in the AL looks like this currently:

Santana
Halladay
King Felix (you'll disagree with this, but kid is so good)
Bonderman (I think you'll disagree with this too, but I think he's better than Verlander and underrated)
Sabathia
Bedard
Haren
Beckett

Not sure who I would have at 9 & 10 so I left them out. Then if Burnett and Harden could ever stay healthy I think there in the top 10, but I'm not counting them right now because of health. I actually think Felix could climb to at least #2 or maybe even #1 on my board if he starts to get his act together.

Can we wait until the end of the year to declare Haren the Top 10 of anything? He's on a hot streak, he'll come back to Earth. He definitely wasn't a Top 10 AL pitcher last year.

A Healthy Wang is better than a healthy Burnett. Stuff wise no, but as a pitcher, I'll take Wang over even Beckett. Wang is so poised on the mound and nothing flusters him. That's one of those intangibles I look for in a pitcher.

Another amazing performance by Wang, no hits in 6+ hittings, allowed 2 hits the whole game. Eating your words now huh?

yeah, that sure is the best way to judge a pitcher ... you're all over that one.

Funny, Galeon was no where to be found on the 8th and 13th of this month.

Haren's ERA is a full point better... outside of HR, Haren has the advantage in every (relevant) major category in pitching.... Haren's had the far better year and is ahead of Wang as far as a pitcher goes...

Wang's a solid P for the Yankees though. Gets the ball put in play, rarely gets rocked. Perfect fit for the Bronx but a better pitcher? No chance...
