JaVale + OKC to Philly

Post#1 » by skywalker33 » Thu Feb 19, 2015 5:10 pm

WTF ??? Don't know if we get anything back, but I don't understand this one at all ??? Guess Lauvergne is going to play backup C for the rest of the season.

TYC does something good, them bends over in the shower.... :banghead:

Well, the NBA allows the trade for a 1st to top out at $3m, Denver got $14M and a huge trade exception ( which they will eventually let expire ).

That's the only spin I got on it.

It's simply a salary dump.

Between the two trades, the Nuggets have shed around 14 million and if they cut any of the trio from Portland, it will be more.

And they just gave up a low 1st rounder while adding another.

"We'll give you a first rounder if you'll take this guy off our hands."

Ouch!

If Javale's not able to play, that's 16 million more over 1.5 seasons .....salary dump, and probably confirmation Javale had less motivation to come back from shin soreness than Kenyon Martin did from a broken leg.

It hurts your team even more if you have a very important resource and can't even use it.

Joffery a potential bright spot? This seems like a waste of a 1st but, oh well.

Mostly playing the role of a stick of chewing gum. Always have to have a guy in the system whose name is hard to pronounce. Good mental gymnastics.

Is Denver going to tank? It is competitive right now.

So, do you think the Nuggets are going to go after a player this off-season or utilize that cap space to facilitate trades for draft picks, just as BOS and PHI are doing ??

Given the dramatic drop in attendance and TV ratings I doubt this is a long term rebuild on purpose. Reportedly Connelly has his eyes on a top free agent, and I would guess they got some kind of indication there was mutual interest through back channels for TC to trade a draft pick for cap space a year early.
