Re: Bucks fans opinions on Brandon Knight
I worry about the criticism on his decision-making. It seems we did not improve at all our BBIQ, and Hornacek is a coach who let's (and even stimulates) players make their own calls.
As a SG that risk is reduced, but he will run point when Bledsoe sits, and that will be dangerous.

I read earlier signing Ish Smith to play same role he did last season may be considered by the Suns to avoid the problem that your talking about here.

Re: Bucks fans opinions on Brandon Knight
Hey guys, I come in peace. I was personally very fine with moving forward with Knight as the PG of the future in Milwaukee. Our system was built on having a lot of guys that can move the ball decently, so the need for a pure point wasn't there for us IMO. Knight excels off the ball, as he's a great spot up shooter, and he can also create for himself off the dribble.
He's decent at driving and kicking, though he sometimes just throws the ball to open spots on the floor and hopes a teammate will get to it. He's not remotely a natural passer or ball-handler, but his athleticism is off the charts, and allows him to beat his man off the dribble pretty much at will.
He's also as hard a worker and as nice a person as you will find in the NBA for what that's worth.
At the end of the day, if you're counting on him to bring BBIQ, vision, and PG skills to the table, you'll be disappointed, but if you're comfortable with Bledsoe running things, Knight's combination of shooting, athleticism, rebounding, and the fact that he's consistently improved over his 4 years should jive pretty well IMO.
And for what it's worth, the Bucks were very interested in pairing Knight with Bledsoe to begin with, so Phoenix isn't the only team that thought it was a good idea.

Can't be worse than IT.
Thanks Bucks fans.
I'm one of the bigger Knight fans out there, and haven't seen much of IT, but I wouldn't count on him being better than IT. For every great fast break, he will give you two or three with a forced terrible pass, a turnover, and a missed contested shot...

I think if you give him 10 minutes a game or so to play point, letting him try to get to the hoop to create for himself, and put guys in the corners, it will work out just fine.
But you need to design your offense around him for those 10 minutes. He gets to the rack at will, I haven't seen too many (if anyone) that have really been able to stop him from getting to the rim. It's the split second between when he blows by his man, and needs to determine if he is going to the hoop or passing the ball that he is poor at, which leads at times to some gross shots and his turnovers.
He has plenty of skills and ability to make it work, especially if the PG minutes are limited.

OK. That paragraph describes Bledsoe and Archie too. So much for versatility. We should have found a way to keep Ennis.

Re: Bucks fans opinions on Brandon Knight
He'd be an ideal 3rd guard - not a good enough distributor to be a quality starting PG and not big enough to start at the 2. But if Bledsoe can defend 2's, maybe that problem is solved, and they work well together. I wish him well - he had a good attitude for the Bucks.

Talented, athletic basketball player. Model Citizen. Hard worker.
Terrible at pick and roll (he uses only to create his own shot). Terrible at distributing on the fast break. Very fast, too fast, needs to slow down and watch what's going on around him. Clutch shooter at the end of games. Wants to be the guy to take the last shot. Can create and make that last shot.
Good rebounder. Can steal the ball. Not that great at staying in front of his man for defense.

Thanks for the input. Will need some wishful thinking and hoping he manages to jump that barrier. Not like the Suns system is much based on passing anyway, but can't expect him to take all balls to the hoop, or he becomes a one-trick-poney and easily stopped.

Re: Bucks fans opinions on Brandon Knight
Will he be able to defend bigger guards? Cuz that's what we will ask from him night in and night out... Or will he just get disintrested and lethargic becouse he is getting beat up on D every other posession? That is my biggest question - along with wether he is OK with riding shotgun while Bled is at the wheel?
Thanks
Thanks

He is a pretty legit 6'3 ( I believe) with a standing reach that is very similar to JJ Reddick, Waiters, Jodie Meeks of the world, and has great athleticism. So I think it will be match up dependent.
More physical SG - Bledsoe is probably a better match.
Quicker SG - Knight should be fine.
Long SG - That's probably what you kept Archie around for!

I think Knight will be fine if he buys into 'Bledsoe is our PG, you are our SG' mentality.
All things being said, Knight fits the Ben Gordon/Jason Terry mold of a bench PG/SG, but not on this team or at his current age.
He and Bledsoe went to Kentucky, so they will be familiar with each other's game I'm sure - don't KU all play/practice together in the offseason?
Goodwin went to Kentucky as well.

Not sure if this has already been posted. Good article on why he's skeptical, but hopefully he won't be a headache to our FO.
