Heat probably won't have to worry about making the playoffs anymore. If Wade and Bosh will be relatively healthy for the playoffs, I can see them being a dark horse in the East. Wade, Bosh, Dragic and Deng is some pretty decent talent...

What do you think about this trade, guys?

You name Luol Deng and don't name arguably their best player!? :x :D

That's a sick starting lineup now if Wade remains healthy. Good god, I wouldn't want to face them. Honestly, if Wade is healthy, that team might be able to get out of the East. I'd definitely put them over Toronto and Washington. Probably Chicago, too. Cleveland and Atlanta are the top dogs in the East right now, but I can see Miami joining them.

I'm just really happy my fantasy stud Hassan Whiteside has a point guard who can get him the ball now when Wade misses games. Chalmers and Cole were SMH-worthy...

I think the bucks screwed up by trading knight mid playoff push just because they don't want to pay him? MCW is a talented, but flawed PG with the high TO rate and abysmal scoring efficiency. I'm sure that will improve somewhat going to a much better team in the bucks, but they had really developed chemistry with knight running the show.

Dragic will help miami a lot, and should be able to produce more now that there's less of a log jam at the guard spot. I think wade being healthy is a pipe dream at this point, but sure, they could get lucky and have him for a playoff push. I've still been disappointed with the fact that spoelstra couldn't keep them around 500 in the east even with wade in and out of the lineup. Sorta re-affirms my feelings that he's just an average coach, and not on the same level as a similar young coach like vogel.

Love love love this trade for Miami. And I love it for Dragic as well. I've been a big fan since that San Antonio game and I've been pulling for him to find a team where he can flourish. I think he's plenty capable of playing up to last year's standards.

The skeptic in me is telling me to wait a little longer before I crown Whiteside. But if he's legit, like Ronny said that's a crazy amount of talent in the starting lineup. And an underrated aspect is how balanced that roster is now. Interior presence, shooting, playmaking, they have by far the most balanced starting lineup in the east IMO. I might start taking them seriously as a threat now, even if Wade can't give them everything. Dragic is going to be big if Wade misses extended time as well.

Yeah, great move for Miami. What an excellent front office.

Simmons: If Pat Riley gets Dragic for a bunch of spare parts and a couple of picks in the 20s, I’m gonna be vehemently pissed off. I’m just warning you now. Is Dragic-Wade-Bosh-Deng-Whiteside kind of terrifying or am I crazy? Although … can you imagine if that trade happens and they beat LeBron in Round 1? We might see like 12,000 Heat fans at some of those Cavs games. WHITE OUT! I am suddenly getting into this trade deadline!

Now Isaiah Thomas goes to the Celtics...What the heck are the Suns doing? They have the 8th seed in the West (which is quite an accomplishment per se), a pretty solid team, yet they seem to be starting a rebuilding process already (trading one of Dragic/Bledsoe/Thomas is understandable, but two of them? weird).

It's not just that Wade missed games, it's that Wade's absence forced Cole/Chalmers to carry a bigger load and Tom Haberstroh had them as the worst PG rotation in the league. I stopped watching Miami's games for a while because I couldn't see Cole/Chalmers handle the ball with no Wade and the team was an absolute bore to watch.

On top of that, Bosh missed games too. When Wade was in Bosh was out, when Bosh was in Wade was out. Then you have another important piece in McBob out for the season and Deng has been inconsistent as hell. Even worse, Bosh seems to have a blood clot in his lungs which absolutely sucks. Hopefully it's nothing.

People forget now but Vogel was being trashed last season for the 2nd half collapse of the Pacers and when they lost to the Heat there were rumors about Bird not bringing him back. I think Spo is definitely better than someone like Vogel. It's impossible to be good or even decent when you don't have any ball handlers and now Miami has a consistent one in Dragic.

Gonna have to add Miami to my League Pass now. The Dragon is gonna feast on the east i think. One of Miamis hugest problems offensively has been transition/fastbreak and Dragic might be the best at that @ Pg. Another huge upgrade is they have another player now besides Wade who can actually dribble/handle the rock and be creative w/ passing or make simple post/positional passes. Their offense is gonna explode big time i see Dragic going on a tear like last season and the efficiency he brings their offense will help their defense as well. Easily a top 3 team in the easy when healthy IMO

Fun day. No huge moves but lots of mid level moves to look at.

I'm planning to write about this, but PHX has been all kinds of bizarre for the last 2 years. They wouldn't commit to Bledsoe this summer, and yet now he's supposed to be the future of your franchise? And Brandon Knight, really? They couldn't decide whether they were going to be a rebuild or try to make a playoff push, and ended up waffling on both counts. Now they seem to be committed to rebuilding, but they only decided that after getting halfway through the season with a winning record. AND THEY TRADED THE LAKER PICK!

The Morris extensions were good moves. Other than that, they've screwed up pretty much everything they've done.

Not exactly sure what Phoenix is doing. First they dragged out the Bledsoe situation, then they pissed-off Dragic, and now they have Knight/Bledsoe playing together. What they had last year was a feel good story but it also shows the pitfalls of not choosing a direction and sticking with it. They are never gonna be able to build a nucleus if they don't know which direction they wanna go into and which player(s) they wanna build around.

Nah, I didn’t forget the meltdown, but I don’t blame vogel for that, either. I think you had major personalities clashing, and 1 person can only hold together a locker room so much. I also think the job he’s done this season has been pretty commendable, especially since beyond george being out, the majority of the starting 5 didn’t play for the first part of the season.

If spoelstra was out west with this heat team, I wouldn’t be as critical. In the east, though, it’s still just the top 4-6 teams that are really decent. Even with their issues at PG, you’d expect more out of this bunch as a whole. Good point on mcroberts, though. Did forget that he’s out, and he’d certainly be a factor. And as I said before, landing dragic will be a major help. Could certainly be dangerous in the playoffs if things come together.

Agree with most of what was said here. Tough for me to judge MCW since he was on a bad team, but I'm not convinced with his PG play. Knight was a pretty solid offensive player, and they lost that for this season. I get why they traded him since he was due for a contract.

Bummer with Bosh out now. Dragic/Bosh PnR/P would've been crazy.

They traded away what could potentially be a top 6-10 pick. lol I don't care that Thomas is gone even if that hurts the Suns a bit. But that draft pick!
