I think Portland could use a big, physical defensive minded player up front for while Freeland is on
the team, his chronic shoulder injury is a concern. Kendrick Perkins might be a decent fit on a
veterans minimum contract. Going down the stretch and entering the playoffs, the games will
be getting really physical and having another big body might be a real help if we face the
Memphis Grizzlies in a second round match up.

Which team is ideal?

Personally Dallas scares me the most out of those teams, they came pretty close to beating sa last season and they've gotten more talent where they needed now.

I am not in the business of piking and choosing who I'd rather have the face as that can bite ya in the butt, but Dallas doesn't scare me at all.

Dallas scares me for one reason - Rick Carlisle.

Yeah he is very crafty. But he's not Jesus, can't make wine outta water.

Its hard for me to be scared of any team that plays Charlie Villaueva rotational minutes on their bench. If they actually kinda depend on him as part of an actual rotation, that's not a team who I'd be particularly scared of.

I guess we'll see how Amare changes things for them.

I actually don't want the Clippers. For one, having to watch, potentially, a 7 game series of Paul and Co crying non-stop sounds nauseating. For two, they do a lot of similar things the Blazers do and I think Portland struggles to stop them at their own game. I think we'd see a very similar series to the Houston series where every game is decided by less than 5 points sorta deal.

Right now, I'd take Dallas, Houston (if Howard isn't 100%) and.... I know this will sound stupid.... but probably San Antonio.

Setting match ups aside Im just sick of playing Texas teams.
With Roy we played houston, PHX and dallas.
With Dame we played houston and San Antonio
Part of me just wants not Texas
Or PHX

everyone has short term memories. the last time Portland played Dallas in the playoffs, everyone (myself included) was hoping we'd get Dallas, and that blew up in our faces. of course, Stotts was on their coaching staff and McMillan was on ours, so at least there is that.

personally, I'd rather face the Clippers or the Rockets. facing the Rockets again is really growing on me as I would love to believe a Matthews/Afflalo pairing could shut Haren down.

thanks to Phoenix's management, that's probably a non-issue
