who is the Rory Fitzpatrick of MLB?

Post#1 » by jazzy_jeff » Wed Jun 20, 2007 12:23 am

For those who aren't famaliar, Rory Fitzpatrick is an career NHL journeyman who has been a 3rd-line defensemen at the best of times in his long career. Some fans launched a "vote for rory" campaign, and nearly got him selected to the nhl all-star game using write-in ballots.

So who in MLB should get the 'vote for rory' treatment? A long-serving player, hard-worker, but someone who probably isn't even a nightly starter -- and has some sort of novelty appeal that could get the all-star votes?

I don't know -- I think some of those guys are TOO good for this honor!

Haven't a couple of them actually even played in the AS game before?

Used to be this guy but ever since he's left there's been a giant hole in all our hearts.

An excellent pick, although I first thought of Mientkiewicz.
