Me:
A. 9 mil
B. 10 mil
C. Over 10 (maybe 11? but that feels like an overpay)
D. At similar money, Knight or Co Jo, Danny Green. No Lin, and needs to be someone who can shoot somewhat. I doubt the Spurs let Green go but you never know, I'd take him and find a PG elsewhere.

Re: Reggie Jackson's Next Contract
a)6M and that "turns him off" then he is ignoring market value based on similar players
b)8M
C)10M+, or poison pill
C) Knight at MLE (max Thunder could offer), Lin at MLE, Beverly at MLE or just let Christon grow into the backup PG role
I expect him to end up back in OKC on the QO and then hitting FA after next off-season as the new TV money jumps the cap and bad teams are willing to overpay for mediocre players seeing the short-term cap jump and ignoring the long-term effects.

Did i missed out alot these past 2 months with my new job? Seemed that our views on him has decreased like mad. I recall you both were willing to go at least 10m on him.
Would be nice if the non OKC fans chipped in on their own projection. I would totally do CoJo+Danny Green for Reggie+ Lamb now.

Re: Reggie Jackson's Next Contract
Offer 8, sign at 10, match at 11, sign and trade at anything over that. We aren't getting Knight at MLE unless Reggie is signing for barely over that. Lin may be a comparable player but he looked lost playing off the ball next to harden on a really good offensive team and I trust Reggie more. I'd prefer no Lin even if we lose reggie. We aren't getting a better player for similar money and this is the last guy we have a chance to keep before KD's contract is up, unless the market is outrageous (12 mil+), I'm of the opinion that we have to keep him. We can't get younger again as Durant and Russ move into their primes, unless we want Washington to look really attractive.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Re: Reggie Jackson's Next Contract
My price went up a hair I think. I had first said around 8/9 mil, I'd go to 10 now, I don't know if he gets offered much more at this point. He wasn't great starting when KD wasn't there running point forward for him half the time. I agree w/ spearsy he's a guy they should definitely keep barring some circumstance preventing it (if he wants out or someone throws a stupid contract his way). I think it would help keep KD and then Russ, so its def important. That said, it all comes down to if NY/LA/DET want to give him a huge (bad) contract. Honestly, at over about 11 mil I don't think its a contract that looks appealing to anyone.

What scares me as much as paying him over 11-12 is that he actually won't want to resign here. I feel like he's a young guy who wants to start at PG for his own team. If I was him, I would look at the roster and think ****, there's actually no way I can take Russell's job. If we match him I could see him becoming disinterested.
Don't get me wrong, I do like Reggie and love the fire he plays with. Would I sign him for over 11? I'm not so sure, but there definitely aren't available guards with his talent that we can replace him with.

Re: Reggie Jackson's Next Contract
so what was his deal in the end?
money?
role?
both?
he seemed very eager to get off of a championship contending team in the middle of a run.

I'd say mostly role. Dude just seemed miserable, but no way he's worth the deal they offered him as of now.

Re: Reggie Jackson's Next Contract
I read something yesterday, somewhere, amid all the chaos of what it was, that there was already an offer to Reggie of 14.5 million.
I wonder if that was Detroit. He was wearing a Detroit hat at some All Star game event.

Poor Reggie.Glad he's gone.

Yeah Reggie, clearly the guys in the locker room were supportive and all the criticism was coming from outside. That's why everyone is glad to see you gone, on the team and outside of it. Jesus, you're lucky this is where you ended up because it's f***ing unlikely another team or coach puts as much faith in a 24th pick who can't shoot or run the point. Instead Brooks and Presti saw something and developed you to this point and kept giving you a shot for as long as you were working hard and thinking about the team. 8 minutes? You were averaging 28 this year and playing for yourself every single one of them, here's hoping the Pistons stay perennial lotto contenders, then you can tell us if those four minutes per night were worth it. And to think, I actually wanted to keep your punk-***. Only significant player traded at the deadline that hasn't thanked the organization or fans. Good riddance.

Well, he somewhat did thank the organization or the fans, but nothing compared to Perk.

What heavily tipped me over the edge were KD's and Russ' comments about him - that has to be the first time either one of them expressed their clear indifference about the departure of a player. Furthermore, him being a selfish and pouting idiot just when the team needed him the most:
Jackson's OKC exit a long time coming
Two days before the Thunder's season opener in Portland, Jackson sprained his ankle and missed the team's first two games. In their third game, the Nov. 1 home opener against the Nuggets, Jackson was cleared to play, but according to a source, refused to because of disappointment that he wasn't traded before the Oct. 31 extension deadline for first-round picks entering their fourth season, like Harden before him. Jackson spoke at shootaround that morning, coyly saying he probably wouldn't play that night. Immediately after finishing his session, he grabbed a ball and threw down an impressive drop-step windmill dunk -- in front of reporters and his teammates. Remember: This was when the Thunder were piecing together a roster without Durant and Westbrook, and only had eight active players available.
To me, that clearly shows it was all about him forcing his way. Without OKC he might have very well ended up out of the league after a few months because let's face it: He was terrible for the first two years. He's only played good basketball for maybe 6-10 months in 4 years and now he thinks he should be running the show because he's a "leader"? Leaders don't quit on the group surrounding them. Leaders don't just look out for themselves and leaders certainly don't cause divides and destroy the chemistry. He's not even close to a leader. He's a guy with two signifcant skills and that's about it - can't shoot and can't defend. But sure, try to get paid.

Ah, I don't use Twitter and none of the major media networks have shown that, which is odd since they've shown everyone else's

I take that part back, but I stand by the General sentiment

Detroit fans are talking about Reggie and how he'll be a good perimeter defender... They're going to be very disappointed.

The words from Russ and KD really showed there were problems with RJ. He might work well for Detroit, even though they have issues with spacing. but how will it work next year with Jennings?

He wants to be the man. But so does Brandon Jennings if I'm not mistaking. I doubt either player would be satisfied with being the backup.

With an Achilles injury I doubt jennings is able to take over the starting spot next year. I think he'll fit pretty well in Detroit for a year and a half, then in 2017 they'll realize he is putting up stats that aren't actually good for the team.

Re: Reggie Jackson's Next Contract
I can't remember a player going on such a public ego trip as Reggie did/has. 12 million a year is nothing to sneeze at (particularly for a backup). The fact that he turned that down and even (allegedly) pouted about it by holding himself out of a game speaks volumes. I guess I can't be mad at him for wanting to be a starter if that was his lifelong dream and he thought he could do it. I just wish he'd handled it differently. Why not come out and ask to be traded in the off season? Why beg out of town. Reggie's defense was so bad that Presti actually traded for Dion freaking Waiters just to get some sort of other option off our bench FFS.
Now he's going to Woj to air grievances about playing hurt last year. I'm sorry, playing hurt doesn't automatically qualify you to get to be a starting PG over a proven all star. He might have made a convincing argument to at least be a starter at SG, but his defense is so terrible.
And to tweet first "Tears of Joy" before all those token thank you's to the Organization/City... not a good look.
