If ya put a gun to my head and make me pick who wins tonight, I say Grizz. They have a chance to get within 1/2 game, but its gonna be a tall order to contain ZBo and Gasol without Adams and with a raw rookie.

Collison has been good on ZBo in the past, but I don't think we are seeing the same Collison. And foul problems could be very real issue with our bigs .

Now only 4.5 behind the spurs, 3.5 if they take care of Charlotte and Denver this weekend. Very realistic chance of catching them and the mavs, as I've mentioned okc has a pretty easy schedule in march. Obviously concerned about Durant, since they can't really afford to rest him yet, but he clearly needs it. At the same time if they make the playoffs and he isn't 100 percent, they won't be able to win it all, as they should with this roster.

As long as Westbrook stays healthy with the addition of Waiters, McGary doing his thing and three of the four new acquisitions, i think we can rest Durant and still win the same number of games.
Before the trade deadline i think they could have rested KD and possibly maintained that 8th spot.
After the trade though, we became a truly deep team that can better withstand an injury.

Bump.

Either way, remember this team was 3-12. They're playing their hearts out. With no KD for most of the season, no Adams for a while, no Russ for a while, and a backup PG who pretty clearly showed he didn't care, they've still played 17 games over .500 since then. I don't know what happens or if they make it, but whatever, just go for the ride now.

I refuse to freak out over Serge missing until I've seen us get destroyed by a team, because I don't think it's going to hurt as much right now as it would at other points throughout his career. Westbrook and Kanter are playing well together, Kanter can hit a few jumpers (obviously not Serge level), McGary can score ten points in five minutes just by hustling his a** off (having him hurt all season may have been a blessing in disguise, we may not have pursued Kanter if we'd watched Mitch for 4 months) and Westbrook has shown that he is capable of dragging us to victories.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Remember right before the all-start break when this thread was really necessary? We were 4 games out of the playoffs at that time. We're now .5 up on the 9th seed. In 1 and a half months we made up 4.5 games, take a look at the schedule and see how long is left in the season. We've got one month left to make up .5 games, we're a better team than we were then and we're playing like basketball is fun. Yeah, the Pels are right behind us and missing the playoffs is a real concern, but we have a great group of guys and are about to get an MVP/second best player in the WORLD back. Let's wait until NOLA is 2 games up before we get the rope ready, if they do I'll even buy it for us.

I'm thinking... finishing out of PO won't be that bad for us. Hopefully we'll see Thunder FO give someone elsa a chance as our coach, KD and Ibaka will have time to get healthy and we can get rid of Waiters in the summer.

And if we make the PO with KD healthy – everything's possible.
