Little bit of an a-ha moment at the end, that smaller unit shut down the C's pick and roll game. That might be part of the answer there.

He said he doesn't plan to retire anytime soon and I can see why. When you have an old mans game your whole career you will last forever.

I didn't see any of that slowing down business Wiz fans were talking about. Controlled and deliberate, but not slow. McCallum wasn't terrible tonight, but Miller might the backup guard we've been looking for for years. And he's liked Sacramento this whole time!

Re: Celtics vs Kings at the Sleep Train
Omri Casspi got 6 assists with 0 turnovers. That's really good for this team. He also got 12 boards, and the Kings out-rebounded the Celtics by 17.
Jason Thompson was great also. 2 assists with 0 turnovers. That's excellent for a big. 9 big rebounds too. He was HUGE in the first quarter.
Gay and Cuz did very good after a shaky start, but Cousins really forced things and had 9 turnovers.
Andre Miller was the star of this game. No question. His BBIQ REALLY stood out against the rest of the team and made them look like they never played basketball before. It was really eye opening.
Derrick Williams showed us a little bit. 1 assist and 0 turnovers. Got some rebounds. Most importantly, I thought he did a very good job contesting shots. Almost nobody made a shot over him. Many misses.
Ben McLemore struggled. Tried to do more than he was capable of. Forced some bad shots. Managed only 1 rebound in 40 minutes, and turned the ball over 4 times with only 2 assists. But I think he can be fixed.
Carl Landry and Ray McCallum were just awful. Both are bad passers for their position, and it doesn't look like that's gonna cut it in Karl's system. Andre Miller really exposed how bad Ray McCallum is.

That's right. I guess Karl didn't want to play Nik against Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley. I think he'll get some minutes tomorrow against JJ Redick.

I am happy for Andre Miller.
Idiot Wizards fans turned on him. He's far from finished. Grunfeld and Wittman made Miller a scapegoat. Wiz lost by 40 tonight.

Honestly, when I watched Andre Miller in the playoffs last season with the Wizards, I thought he was done. He couldn't do anything against the defense, and the Wizards' overall play really fell off when he was in the game over John Wall. Point is I guess I don't blame Wizards fans for thinking they needed someone else.
I was worried about getting that Andre Miller here, but while he was slow, he had no trouble finding passing angles and generally could get where he needed to. He was really vocal and ran the offense perfectly. He ran it so perfect that Cousins went 12-18 and Gay went 9-18 after terrible starts. It was really a sight to behold.

Yeah, and that was the sole reason they won. Not. The whole team came out nervous as heck. Not really sure why Carl didn't get any more minutes but JT as a backup C looked decent, like he did last year. He's a solid minute filler until Cuz hits the floor again. Karl stayed with a pretty short rotation tonight. He ran mostly an 8 man rotation for the most part. Carl was the 9th guy that played and he only played about 5 minutes. We'll have to see if the bench can do what it did tonight, and the team overall really. The question is whether or not the 3's and bench production were a fluke. Derrick Williams and Omri were huge, can they continue that moving forward? I think Karl is going to like Omri, he might be that Kleiza type for him. I know people bomb on going small but Rudy at the 4 worked really well tonight down the stretch.

Marcus Smart may very well attain a near Ron Artest level defensively. Obviously not as versatile overall defensively but he is just a nightmare to dribble around. Even Cousins already hates him.

I say Omri was a bit of a fluke. We know he's been a willing passer and a good rebounder. That's no fluke, but I don't think we can expect 6 assists, 0 turnovers, and 12 rebounds every night. That's elite.
Derrick Williams was a surprise, but I don't think he did much outside of his game. He ran and got some buckets in transition. He rebounded a little bit. He used his length to bother shooters. That's all stuff that he's done before that we know he can do. He wasn't out there dropping dimes (but to my delight he had 1 assist with 0 turnovers), handling the ball, or hitting shots off the dribble. I think there's a chance he can keep this up.

Yeah, you're right about Omri, he'll bring that type of game to the table every night. I think Karl is going to love Casspi.
Another thing that was different about DWill in this one was his effort in moving without the ball. He was cutting with a passion. If he can at least do that there is no reason he can't be a solid rotation player for the rest of the year. This is going to be a HUGE last part of the season for him. This last run of games might determine whether he's playing in China next year or playing on a guaranteed NBA deal. I guess we'll just have to not be mad when DWill boosts his value and helps bust the Kings lotto pick.

The Cousins turnovers thing needs to stop. Teams best passer putting up more turnovers than assists? Really detracts from his game. Karl will adjust that

Had to DVR it, but the energy was high, very happy. Miller looks like the veteran help we needed off the bench too.
Those turnovers were nasty, but otherwise very happy.

I was trying to explain it to my wife, no wasted movement, calm, taking in everything on the court.
They really needed to help him on screens or when pressured up high beyond the 3 point line cause he slowed down some, but as long as they help him here and there this is looking like it could do wonders for us.
Amazing difference in bench flow and production felt right away.

I'm sorry man, I hope Sessions improves his game for you guys with a different offensive flow than ours.
