In history, there was 9 players who played for C's and also had a brother who played in NBA...
Can you name it?

The Paxsons and Barrys come to mind in a hurry.

Edit: Actually, Jon Barry wouldn't count, would he?

No, Barrys wouldn't count...for Paxsons you are right...

Duh. The Collins twins.

Certainly can't think of nine but a couple I do remember are Dominique Wilkins (brother Gerald) and Jason Collins (brother Jaron).

I think Greg Kite and Fred Roberts also came from Brigham Young...

Kite definitely. I forgot about Roberts.

Actually, it seems Ainge, Kite and Roberts were all on the same BYU team in 1980-81.

So now we have 5 of 9.
Wilkins, Paxson, Collins, Williams and Bradley.
Little help...one combination played together one season for C's.
One C's player had Hall of Fame Brother.
One combination has C's player on greatest C's team of all-time
One combination has C's player in last 5 years who played only one game for C's
There's only one statistics that's important: who won...Bill Russell

Nonceltics one I like - what coach was replaced by a guy he was traded for as a player?

Excellent. I completely forgot about Quis, and I didn't even know Sheed did a track. I would have also accepted Shaq and Gary Payton

I may be wrong about sheed. E40 dissed him but it may have been for radio comments rather than a song. I feel like he recorded sonething tho.

Can't believe I forgot Shaq. Autocorrect just changed it to Shaw... Did Brian rap? Let's not forget the big controversy about colton Iverson's content. Or was that allen.?

Easy one:

There's a famous story of a Celtic player not having his statistics considered in his salary negotiations. Explain.

I actually was thinking of Red's promise to the rookie Russell that he'd never cite stats in salary negotiations with him.

I googled a list if NBA brothers and still only knew the recent one (which I should have known as a Purdue grad.,)

I didn't know Derek Fisher had an NBA brother with a different name. That brother had an interesting connection with a teammate though. What was it, and what other NBA brother had the same circumstance the following year?

Even with google I can't find this one. Are we talking training camp with Derek Battie or something?

Ok guys...there's 5. Somebody mention Sam Vincent (brother Jay).
7 is Ed Mikan, brother of Minneapolis Hall of Famer George Mikan
8 - on first Celtics team 1946/47 played brothers Connie & Johnny Simmons
9 - in 2010. Marcus Landry played one game for C's...his brother Carl is still active with SAC

Here is a two parter that is probably pretty easy. How many times have the Celtics picked first overall in the draft and how many former number one picks have played for the Celtics at some stage in their careers?

C's picked twice...first picked Charlie Share and traded him for Bill Sharman. Second was 1980 when they have a 1st pick but traded it with 13th pick for Parish and 3rd pick (McHale)

First picks that played for C's...Shaq O'Neal comes first to mind.
In 60's there were Sihugo Green (guy drafted ahead of Russell) and Jim Bad News Barnes. In 80's obviously Bill Walton.
In 90's Pervis Never Nervous Ellison...in 00's Michael Olowokandi...maybe i'm forgeting someone...

Got all the ones I was thinking of including one extra I didn't know with Sihugo Green.

Return to Boston Celtics
