Not the best game for Ainge to attend, 15 min, 1-3, 3 pts; but he has been playing well lately.

Re: Mario Hezonja
Man just checked his stats - 300 minutes in the ACB this year and he has shot 2 free throws all year! Wow. Better in Euroleague - 252 minutes and 21 free throw attempts but man those ACB numbers are crazy.

After a modest game in the euroleague now came a good one in the ACB.
The game finished just now Mario scored 16 points (4/7 for 3 and one of those missed shots was in the last second of the shot clock), 5 rebounds and an assist.

Did you watch the game? It seems the last few games he has shot a lot of 3s. I know I have seen highlights of him driving to the basket before. The box scores now seem to show most of his shots are 3 point shots. I need to ask how often does he drive to the basket? Is he just standing behind the lime and not trying to create his own shot?

He can create his own shot and drive to the basket but his role in that Barcelona team is limited to 3 point specialist.I noticed that most of his points coming from behind 3pt line because he always enters when opposing team playing zone defense. He is not asked to do anything fancy beside shooting the three, knowing if he does anything else on his own he will probably get pulled on the bench.

I only watched the 3rd and part of the 4th quarter so I can only speak for that part of the game.
He is mostly staying outside the line and trying to get open for 3 point shots. He quickly hands the ball over to the PG and most of the time he had the ball in his hands was when he was taking it from his half into the opponents half and after that quickly handing it over to someone else.
He can drive to the basket, but he doesn't do that so often - but when he does it's something worth a highlights video
I have to agree with MrTwister above. His coach has set up a certain role for him in the team and he is adjusting his game to that role.

He is unreal.
Best player of Barcelona right now, and Barcelona is a top3 team in Europe.
If he was in NCAA, no doubt he is a top3 pick.

I believe this video and article are actually saying that Hezonja needs to work on his shot selection and passing.
Love this guy though, in a league where spacing is so important, he's the bests shooter in the draft. I would take him top six without a question as long as there is no character issues.

Re: Mario Hezonja
He only played 14 minutes, but what im really happy with is that he became the go-to guy in a team like Barcelona. He is the youngest and he is the one they give the ball to in the last quarter in tight games. The coach too when is talking in the time outs is mentioning his name a lot.
His decision making and shot selection are still work in progress, but they are something that will come with time. He is young and wants to do everything on the court. He makes mistakes (less than he did before tough),but I really love his enthusiasm and the fact that he has really really big balls.
His defending has improved over this season. At least now he is not letting his player go like he did before.Started using his superior athleticism on the d too. 1 on 1 i think he is really dominant here in Europe, but his team defending needs improvement. He likes to gamble and sometimes he is not paying attention as much as he needs to.

He played 10 minutes today. I don't understand, he has to play more, he is doing well when he plays.

Should be a top 3 pick... unsure why he's so underrated on RealGM...

Re: Mario Hezonja
Herzonja said he was recruited to play for Kentucky and said he'd be the #1 pick if he decided to go the college route.
Its hard to argue with him. This kid knows how to play basketball in Dirk mode. When you go back to last year and realize that Aaron Gordon "sheesh" was pick #4, Herzonja will make some team in the top 5 very happy.
In fact I think he jumps into the top 4 by draft day( Okafor,Towns,Russell,Herzonja) ahead of Mudiay . It starts getting real shaky after 5 .
I know Frank Kaminsky is a bit older and doesnt have the great athleticism of lottery picks but he is #6 imo.

That's actually my top 4 as of now.

A more aggressive Gordon Hayward?
I like the little I have seen of him.

Looks like a cross between Wiggins and McBuckets.
He is shooting 43% from 3 point line, 58% overall for Barcelona. Love his ability to finish, elite athleticism. Not quite Wiggins but just a notch or 2 below.
To me its Towns/Okafor. If Im sitting at 3 I am in agony over choosing Herzonja/Russell
