I remember when I first started calling him GOATbrook and put his name in my sig there were maybe 5 people on RealGM calling him GOATbrook. Now every single thread I see about him is full of people calling GOATbrook and a few people complaining about those calling him GOATbrook.

SMH at all these bandwagoners ;).

I've always loved him so at least Im not a Westbrook bandwagoner.

But I do love GOATbrook and feel no shame in admitting I jumped on your bandwagon there.

If I could only watch one player in the Association I'd choose him. Which is odd because Im traditionally big on fundamentals and "playing the right way". Never big a fan of any of the hyper-athletic perimeter guys. But this guy.....

It just maybe. I was laughing so hard when I saw the "It's GOATbrook's team, not KD's" thread on GB though I don't agree with that. KD is easily their best player and a Top 2 player in the league when healthy if not the best but still funny to see that thread title. I was shocked to see nearly every other poster referring to RW as GOATbrook and I have also noticed some backlash from those who don't like him with comments like "Enough of this GOATbrook crap, it sounds so stupid".

Well no, it doesn't. Let the GOATbrook GOAT.

Haha....the comment about bandwagoners was a joke :). I am just messing around. The more the merrier, GOATbrook is that good when he's on. I don't blame anyone for jumping on his bandwagon.

GOATbrook is such an awesome nickname because its so obviously tongue in cheek. People are just having fun. Its even better because the board is obsessed with shooting efficiency, and Westbrook basically looks at efficiency and sees toilet paper.

Guys who have a problem with GOATbrook should take things a little less seriously and just enjoy the ride. :- ) As a wise man said, he's here to stay and coming for your favorite player's ass.

I would move mountains to have this guy on the Lakers.

OKC fans are so effing lucky.

Still concern about Durant though. Hope this season doesn't derail his career and he goes on to be 32/8/5 Durant again.

ardee, I hate it when Laker fans say that, but if there's one Laker fan I'd feel good for it'd be you.

33/10/7, again awesome. Kanter was really impressive to me, he missed some FTs, but played solid defense on Al Jeff, which was supposed to be his big weakness. I honestly don't ever remember a game where 2 OKC bigs had double doubles til now. A future frontcourt of Adams/Kanter/Ibaka/McGary looks real solid if KD and Russ hang around for the long haul.

You know, stats/impact/production wise, what he's been doing the last week or two probably isn't too far off from what Durant did last year starting in late December, through all of January, and a chunk of February without Westbrook. Unfortunately for Westbrook, OKC isn't at the top of the standings like they were last year when Durant began his assault on the league. That, coupled with him missing a chunk of games to being the year, means he's likely never going to generate as much MVP buzz as he should. He hasn't been as great as Durant, and his efficiency still isn't the greatest, but that's not what makes his impact at least somewhat on par with the best in the league anyway. It's his relentless aggression, and non-stop motor that separates him from most players in the league today, and it's a joy to watch.

I've always appreciated Westbrook. Yes, Durant has always been my favorite OKC player, but I'm a Thunder fan first and foremost, so I've always defended and appreciated Russ with all of his good and bad. But recently, with his amazing play, is probably the first time I've really, truly realized how dang lucky I am as a Thunder fan. I'm getting to see Russ, for probably the first time in his career, fully unleashed and it's a thing of beauty a lot more often than not. He really is, in a completely and different way, a very special player in his own right.

Agreed. I feel the same way about KD, though I'm a bigger Russ fan. Either one of them missing time makes me appreciate them so much more. How'd you like the new guys, any general thoughts on the trade?

I'll need a little more time to really judge the new guys and how they fit with the team. Mainly, I need at least a handful of games with KD in the lineup to get a real feel but, at the very least, it's obvious OKC improved their depth. I think this one trade took OKC from being a team with so-so depth to one of the deeper, more balanced teams in the league. I may be overselling, and be proven wrong in time, but at the time of the trade, after I finally saw the full details, I loved it.
