Seems inevitable that we'll finish the season with Brewer.

He is not a LeBron stopper. He is awful. Only way he should play is if Snell gets hurt.

I was mostly kidding. There's no one (sans Kevin Martin) who I think would actually get PT with us so we might as well sign Brewer and enjoy the nostalgia.

Real nice to see the FO trusting our roster that much... The problem is that we've flaws that'll haunt us!!!

If were doing nostalgia... can they sign Salmons instead? He's being bought out by the Suns.

That would be awesome even though it seems he is completely done... but, again, he wouldn't play anyway (like Brewer)

Yes, sign a player who is so vastly overrated and overloved by this fanbase to just sit him there? Brilliant...

Nate Robinson is a black hole that played his way into a ridiculous contract off one season with the team's best player out and he had to play those minutes. Never before has someone so bad coasted off having one good game every five. He doesn't play D and he is a terrible PG. But hey, when he plays starters minutes, he might get you 20 points! Yes, he's just what we need back here...

I had posted, somewhat in jest, about dajuan wanger. He's actually trying to make a comeback. He's in the ABA right now. He's averaging just over 20ppg, shooting around 67% in an admittedly small sample (three games) in a sub d-league league. He'd be a guy you take a late season flyer on just simply to see if he has anything left for next year. The guy was a talented scorer and had health problems and I believe some knee issues.

You're not going to find a contributor off the scrap heap of the NBA. Take a shot. Take a gamble. If it doesn't pan out what have you lost. If Wagner still has that scorers ability with a more mature attitude you might just have a capable bench spark for almost nothing. He's more mature and I think he'd appreciate being on a veteran squad as opposed to when he entered the league with the Cavs who were a mess.

Food for thought.

I don't know why LeBron recruiting and now landing Perkins makes me angry at Rose again for not being a 'recruiter' but it does.

I'm also surprised to learn that Perkins and LeBron were AAU teammates back in the day. Had no clue.

So there's no way he was gonna pick us over that, esp when there's some history between him and Noah there.
Now we can't just get Mozgoff in foul trouble and overpower them with size.
Instead we're gonna be missing Noah's contributions in these games when he tangles with Perkins.

That's 4 guys with rings and championship experience now in CLE (LBJ, Miller, Marion and now Perk) vs Gasol on our side.

WAS has Pierce and TOR and ATL have no one with rings.

If they can construct a roster, full of guys that were avalaible to anyone, with a rookie coach, in 1 season that produces a title, the NBA is going to be an interesting place.

What a season for CLE so far....

At this point it looks like we are going to sign a random player with a min non-guaranteed contract next year, to be used as a trade filler for a potential draft day trade, like we did last year.
Given the lack of legit buyout candidates, I am fine with this.

Thats the advantage of starting with Kyrie + LeBron.
For love, not money.

Given the Suns' president of bball operations recent comments on Marcus Thornton ("He's a little bit redundant"), do you think they're angling for a buyout ?

He is not a LeBron stopper.

Sure he is...he'll make sure and take all of Lebron's liquids and keep him dehydrated. We'll just have to give him a Cavs jersey so he can sit on their bench without anyone being too suspicious.

No, nor would I want him near this team if he were to be bought out. It's a $9 mil dollar cap slot after this season for them anyway. I don't see them paying him to go away when their season's over in 6 weeks.

I think it's worth keeping Nate Robinson on the short list if Hinrich keeps having health problems. He probably wouldn't get minutes this season, but having his energy on the bench could be great and he's the type of guy who could be a huge spark plug, even with little PT.

Jesus now we are giving Rose crap for not recruiting one of the worst players in the NBA and a 3rd string center.

Pistons have claimed Shawne Williams. Praise Jebus.
