Best PER seasons of all-time

Post#1 » by JTrain » Mon Feb 23, 2015 9:33 pm

Anthony Davis (this season) was tied for #1 last week. Now he's #9 and the only player in the top 12 besides LeBron, Jordan and Wilt.

I really don't know that much about PER but how much of that number is affected by FT%? Say Wilt and Shaq managed to hit like 70% instead of 50% would that change their PERs all that much from what is listed here?

Note the order there isn't exactly correct because of rounding and then going alphabetical.

I.e. Jordan 88 is 31.71 for 3rd, and James 09 is 31.67.

But yeah, it looked like Davis might shatter MJ's modern era record for a while there.

Interesting. I figured they would use more decimal places even if they didn't show them.

Steals and blocks wernt recorded when wilt was playing so I assume that would've boosted his per up even higher?

It gets scary when you compare his age to everyone else.

Looking at the entire list you really come to love the 2008-09 season. Only time in NBA history two guys finished with over 30 PER (Lebron & Wade). Their head to head games were amazing that season as well.

No surprise Davis is having a great season and has easily been the best player of the season.
