He played Pek pretty good holding him to 6 for 18 shooting despite giving up probably 75lbs.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Motie did fine at center last night and Pek is not a small man. That said, Jones should be the starting 4 from here on out, regardless.

jones compliments howard better, but he's not better overall. there are many who can do the things jones does at his size, but there aren't many who can do what dmo can do at his size which in this league determines ones value.

Jones is better overall than Motie, even though Motie does have some nice footwork in the post. There are not many who can do what Jones can do and that's why he's the clear starter for the Rockets when healthy.

This forum is overrating DMO and underrating Jones.

or you are doing the exact opposite. One of them will be traded by this time next year.

I don't think so. You're already seeing Jones return to form and get his spot back but perhaps both myself and the Rockets management are doing the opposite.

I definitely package Motie and Papa together, however. I think that pair might draw some decent value in return.

i don't think people on this board is overrating DMo
i think people here see what DMo can do
remember you can't practice length - DMo has the advantage here
DMo is better post up player
TJones is better putting the ball on the floor and attack the basket
both are streaky shooters
one thing i don't like about TJones is his on-court awareness
sometime he doesn't seem to know where his teammates are
i see him fighting own teammates for rebound
i like both of them
but if i have to pick one to keep i'll pick DMo
especially now Howard health is uncertain
if we have healthy Howard and don't have JSmoove i'll pick TJones

Not a fair analysis since Howard is not there. Hard to know what McHale's intentions are regarding the two.

They both play for the Rockets and I like them both so I don't feel the need to choose between the two other than who I'd rather see start next to Howard and that's clearly Jones.

Motie has looked very good in his increased minutes, no doubt.

We will, of course, see what happens when Howard returns. My assumption is that since Morey didn't get a reserve center, he views Motiejunas in that role.

head coach job is to get the best out of his player
at this point
DMo play better as a starter and TJones can play well either way
i would continue to start DMo and bring TJones off the bench
JSmoove gave us the 2nd playmaker
if we can't improve PG situation next season
i want JSmoove back
not sure he will return if both DMo and TJones are still on the team
both will be restricted free agent next season
both will get more than MLE
do you think Morey will keep both?

statistically, in terms of whole numbers, jones shows to put up better numbers than dmo, but i think that's deceitful. dmo does the little things that allows other guys to spike their numbers a bit.

what exactly can jones do that is so rare that others his size can't replicate? he's a solid guy and he will be for most of his career barring injury, but that's it. he attacks well, he's a great rebounder for his size, and his help defense is really good, but he gets eaten up by bigger guys who can shoot the ball from outside of 10 feet and his post up offense and defense is lacking.

dmo on the other hand has shown extreme improvements defensively and offensive flashes, given the opporutnity, that i personally think any gm would take over jones. he's also very vocal and has shown some leadership traits and has the awareness on both ends court to do the little things, showing his work demeanor, not being above any little task, taking charges, diving on the floor for the 50/50 balls, boxing out, etc.

like with any team, the fit is the most important which is why i think jones has the advantage here, but there's no absolute way that jones is considered a better rounded player than dmo at this point. guys in today's nba who have that type of offensive skill set are extremely rare and you won't convince anybody of that fact otherwise.

Terrence now has 14 blocks in the last 4 games.

Pretty damn good, T JONES.
