Knight can't even convince you?

Knight is just another undersized scoring combo guard to me. They are a dime a dozen and now we will over pay him in the off season.
I dont think he will ever convince me otherwise. I do like him more than Bledsoe though, then again I really dislike Bledsoe.

I like what the radio guys said today (granted they're the flagship) but what started this mess signing IT was Bledsoe's unwillingness to communicate over the summer. Had they at least been in touch im sure things would've gone differently even if the 5/70 was the end result. Rich Paul got the best possible deal for his client but did it in a very Inconvienent way.

As Coro has stated Dragic didn't like the way the Bledsoe situation was handled but you can't fault them for making the Dudley trade.

bwgood77 wrote:I agree he struck gold which is why I think if he felt it was worth cashing in that pick on Knight, I believe he must really like Knight, and I trust his eye for talent.

His only misstep so far is the IT signing and fallout, but obviously we all know he had bigger plans than that for the offseason.

But you could be right about Knight. Hopefully it isn't LIKE the IT signing in that he felt he had to do something and add SOMEONE after trading Dragic, so he just traded for who he could, kind of like signing who was left after not getting a star this summer.

I don't think so though. I like Knight, so I'm hopeful he'll turn into a very productive player for us.

I don't have any doubts that McD is great at accessing talent so perhaps Knight is a player he can see sticking around but I've seen enough of him to come to an opinion that he's a good but unimpressive player. That said, my issue is less that Knight's on our team but more that we only have half a season to not only evaluate hit fit on the team and the culture but also to convince him that this is the team he wants to play for. The 2nd part of that is probably more important in setting his expectations of how much we'll have to pay to retain his services.

I know it's a tough situation to avoid but I don't think we can just look at the player and not evaluate the player based on his RFA situation as well.

I'm so sick of seeing this Lakers pick conversation already. You don't get a 23 year old Brandon Knight type of guy with RFA status for **** miles plumlee and Ennis.
I know most of you here like to make gross fantasy trades on ESPN trade machine but that's not actually how REAL NBA GMs work.

This. And another thing--a Brandon Knight type player (borderline all-star, top 40 player league-wide) is typically what you get when you hit on a top 10 pick. Sure, we could've drafted he next Durant, but we are more likely to get the next Oden.

What a disastrous trade.

Almost as bad as trading the first overall pick to get rid of baron davis

Does McD actually watch games? Yea we sure had a ton of energy in those losses vs Minnesota and Boston when were down by like 20 or 30 at one point....

For what its worth, even Sam Hinkie said he was surprised that the LAL was even on the trade block.

and so what, you don't have to make the trade at all, and you know I can appreciate you being sick of the discussion but obviously others aren't and its a farily easily avoided aggravation for you

And why does he keep bragging about our record? He is being super defensive and sounds kinda arrogant to me. Keeps sayin stuff that basically amounts to: "don't criticize me because I have done a great job. Just look at our amazing record. A few bounces go our way and we'd be in the 8th slot"

Is the ninth seed really that impressive?

Has Goodwin increased his height by any chance?
I recall some draft comments that he was still growing... if he can push pass 6'6 with shoes on... he may be able to slide to SF sometime. Eventually he will fill out and with his ball handling, ability to penetrate, wingspan... he can be a very good wing man.... he just need that 3pt range.

Archie's shooting stroke is still concerning. He still has that little hitch at his release point, and shoots with his release point to far in front of his head.

The good news is that Shawn Marion has a weird shooting stroke but has found a way to be an All Star with his overall game.

I am hoping Archie develops an All Star type overall game, even if his shot is ugly.

Go Archie! The Suns need stars badly right now.

I agree. He is living in fantasy land right now...Id guess the vibe around the team is better because no Dragic or IT means more shots for everyone else lol.

I'm pretty sure Ryan McDonough doesn't live in a fantasy land. He is intimately connected to every player and the team as a whole. He is very aware of each and every deficiency on the team and has a long term plan moving forward. I am very confident that this team is in good hands.

Yeah, he needs to quit talking about how good the team is now and the vibe is great, while in the midst of a huge losing streak. It just makes him look stupid. While I don't necessarily care what people think of him, he seems a little more full of himself right now than I like. He has a huge leash and I trust him, but I would bet Sarver is not happy with the fact that the Dragic situation played out the way it did...and while he is plenty pissed at Dragic, I doubt he is terribly happy with the FO too. You know Sarver wants to compete

Ugh.... STFU McDuh... you haven't quite cleansed this squad of me first guys. And you may have added one. Quit with the gloating justification. It hasnt been a very good yr for you, regardless of the Babbler's endorsement.

Lets just get through this season with no more drama.

Thing I don't like here is that this is the first controversy that McD has had to deal with as GM and he's not handling it very well.

His comments, his actions, and then his comments again all seem to show that he's insecure or something.

The constant "We're better without them, we're better put them, better vibes without them, we're better without them, the vibes are better without them, oh did I mention we're better without them?" all seem to indicate that he's very insecure.

Plus in his interviews post Dragic & IT trade, McD has been shuddering so much when he talks and looks extremely nervous.

Suns should have just taken the high road on all this and said "We don't agree with Goran's comments, we felt we did what's best for the team. We don't think his comments are accurate at all. That said, we have moved on and we thank him for his contributions to our team over the years. We are excited about our new additions Knight & Thornton. No more questions about former Suns players please, we are focused completely on the present and the players who are here".

We traded Steve Nash, Tyler Ennis, and the worst basketball player on the face of the earth in Miles Plumlee for Archie Goodwin and Brandon Knight.

Quit **** bitching. You guys act like that pick was unprotected. It will be a 6th pick at the absolute best, and that probably won't happen.

So in essence we traded Dragic x2, Thomas, Plumlee, Ennis and the Lakers pick for Knight, a bunch of trash and 3 picks which will more than likely be worse than the Lakers pick...We got screwed.

See how easy it is to make a trade look better or worse when you involve other assets that were not involved in the trade..

Moving IT and Dragic was fine, we should have stopped after those two trades.
