Pero Antic VS Mike Muscala

Post#1 » by Goudelock » Wed Feb 25, 2015 2:56 am

Why does Antic play so much for the Hawks? All he does is brick threes on offense, and he's not exactly Anthony Davis on defense. Does he have awesome advanced stats or something? I'd rather have Muscala in there, since he seems much more athletic and active in the limited time that he gets.

I'll just leave this here.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

So that's why he plays.......

But seriously, he doesn't seem to do anything on the floor outside of shooting threes, which he bricks. He also commits a lot of stupid fouls.* And I've seen just about every Hawks game this year, so I'm not basing my opinions on a few games.

*Still better than Kendrick Perkins though.

Because offensively they dont miss a beat offensively when he is in the game and he is essentially a "stretch five". He is also a big body they can use when they play teams with big front lines such as last years Pacers squad. They almost upset them by the way due to what Antic brought to the table.

I can understand your reasoning, but shooting .287 from three isn't what a stretch 5 does. He does help them on defense though against the zach randolph types.

It seems like he shot well in the Playoffs. I agree though he has been bricking this year hope he picks it up.

if the rotation isn't broken why would the coach change it? I think fans often over-estimate how effective athletic young players really are while, often badly, underestimating how useful smart veteran players can be--even when their box score numbers don't impress.

And if this is the Hawks big problem, they don't got no problems

You're right about that. I'm really invested in this hawks team and I'd like to see them win it all. I can just see them in a dogfight vs Cleveland, and them losing because Pero goes 0-6 on wide open threes during game 6.

If we lose it is usually when our shots are not falling and/or we get murdered on the boards and giving up a ton of points in the paint.
