The 76ers acquired McGee and a future first round pick from the Denver Nuggets at the deadline.

McGee has had two consecutive injury-plagued seasons, and has a contract that owes him $11.2 million this season and $12 million in the 2015-16 season.

Denver had to give up a first just to get ride of McGee. Meanwhile, we still have Nene and just so people don't forget, Nene was kind of the first big pieces added as a vet to help turn this franchise around.

He then got Okafor and Ariza for Lewis, who he got for Gilbert. (Recall, I thought Gilbert was damaged goods and not worth resigning after he opted out while injured). He then gave away Okafor and a pick for Gortat.

Some moves really worked out.

Nene being healthy and Javale McGee being injured is sure an unforeseen good luck or blessing for the Wizards.

Same here

Yeah, any talk of Pat Riley pulling off a miracle has to be tempered a day later with news that Chris Bosh may have a serious lung problem. Hopefully, it's not too bad.

Did they trade any unprotected 1st? They could perhaps be a lottery team.

If they have their pick, Bosh out could end up getting the Heat Jahlil Okafor or Deangelo Russell. Riley really wins in that case.

It was a numbers game. It was between him and Marshall - of course Marshall later tore his ACL and was included in the trade to Phoenix - and I think they'll cut him. So both Wolters and Marshall should be available in the offseason.

The Rose situation is so sad man, and it makes you wonder if they had caught it earlier they probably could have made a move for a point guard at the deadline.

And in a weird way this might save Wittmans job. If the Wiz can stay afloat and nail a 4th or 5th seed they have a shot against Milwaukee or Chicago in the first round.

If he could transmogrify himself into a ball-protecting-3&D-type that plays limited-but-still-effective-minutes (like Jason Kidd was the year Dallas won the title), then maybe he could prolong his career IMO. But other than that, he's done as D-Rose we knew. Too bad.

The Bulls already know how to play without him, but at this point they have to look for another longterm solution at PG. Rondo in FA?

Already at the cap next season, and that's not including Butler's max deal. They will only have the MLE, and even then...Rondo can't shoot. They are going to have to get creative and package Taj and someone else and go from there. They will be fine with a trio of Gasol, Noah and Mirotic. Maybe turn Taj and McDermott into a starting point from somewhere.

Jerian Grant or Terry Rozier in the draft?

His knees are just shot, from my one ligament repair........and the doubt I STILL have today over it despite hundreds of intense workouts, I can't imagine both knees with multiple surgeries and being expected to dart around the Walls/Westbrooks of the league all while trying to regain a 35 inch vertical.

It explains all the threes he was chucking up. I wish him the best, but it's in his best interest to just sit out and take his guaranteed money. Hopefully he gives 85% of it from this point forward to multiple money managers and dials down his lifestyle. I don't see another contract coming after this.

EDIT to ADD: I hope he pulls a Grant Hill, seems like he should see another doctor. Just don't see Arenas' doctor. I'd look up who Westbrook used.........

I saw somewhere online that presented the Denver progression like this:

- Karl wins 57 games with Nuggets
- Team fires Karl because he won't change style
- Team hires Scott to change style with Karl's players
- Team trades away Karl's players
- Team fire Scott

Couldn't help but chuckle. I don't think anybody knows what the heck they're doing.

Wolves Claim Justin Hamilton, Waive Glenn Robinson III
MAR 5, 2015 6:35 PM

The Minnesota Timberwolves have claimed Justin Hamilton on waivers.

Hamilton was waived by the New Orleans Pelicans to create a roster spot for Elliot Williams.

The Wolves will waive Glenn Robinson III to create a roster spot of their own for Hamilton.

You know if we had a competent GM we would claim GR3 and put him in the D-League so we can allow him to develop for next season
